Ugrh, such a horrible feeling going back to work after a break knowing there'll no longer be any holidays after this until CNY, I think. The Christmas decorations that has yet to be taken down in the client's office is not helping at all. And the PM is still not back yet! How I dream for a long vacation, I'll most probably spend it lying on the couch all day long channel surfing, w00ts!
A string of incidents occured during New Year's Eve, starting off with a congestion-free drive to Pavilion which was truly amazing for us, since we're normally stuck for hours no matter where we head to for countdown, last year at The Curve was real bad even though we headed out pretty early. But this time around, we made it in 15 minutes and we only departed around 7.20pm. Amazing. But then, later, Planet Hollywood deciding to seperate us, restrict ala carte and have us all order some weird set meals which costs RM99++, I'll forever remember the plus-plus part since the waiter kept reminding us about it, like few thousand times. I can read lah dammit! There's about 16 of us, that means the bill would amount up to at least RM1700++, that's absolute nuts!
So we moved on. Then at Pasta Mania, Jacklyn insisted on some Aglio Prawn thingy which tasted like oiled pasta (except for the prawns). Basically, I showered it with lots and lots of chilli flakes and grinded cheese before the dish became slightly edible, should have taken a picture. I swear I will never allow her to make any orders ever again! Fortunately, there's the Ham and Mushroom pizza as back-up. Finally, the bunch of us headed to BB and waited for the countdown + fireworks, only to be surrounded by foam spraying kids all so often. It doesn't help when you're being used as protection due to your size, hmph. Anyway, its actually quite sad to see those young kiddos behaving like some kind of mobsters, witnessing for myself what the youth of today is becoming. Sigh.
Anyway, estimating from the amount of spraying, the total sum of money spent on these cans of foam emitters (rm10 for 3 I think) could have probably assisted many others in those flood striken states, but that's just me. And also because I hate these stuff. Then it rained, resulting foam + rain concotion = weird, sticky feeling on skin. We managed to find shelter in nearby buldings while Ryan magically managed to get an umbrella out of nowhere. And SuperPop braved the queues and got us drinks from McDs, which I am forever grateful to you *hugs you tight-tight*. And when the clock struck midnight (I assume), nothing happened compared to the usual countdown (the 10, 9, 8, .... 1, Happy New Year thingy) and fireworks began lighting the dark sky.
Before that, if you noticed these few days in my msn status, I mentioned that Cherrie is evil. What actually happened was, by the stroke of midnight, she fell into the dark side and started spraying us with foam, which triggered to others to a spree. Needless to say, I think kena the most while some hid themselves under the umbrella. That Ryan also one, 06/07 spray me not enough, 07/08 have to do it again! Anyway, I managed to break free and then continued looking at the beautiful display of fireworks, which I just love. The colourful bright lights breaking into patterns accompanied by the booming sounds in the air signifies a new beginning to another year of unknowns, its absolutely refreshing.
And for the finale, I managed to escape from the congestion and reached home in 30 minutes, muhahahha!!! Compared to previous year where we had to lepak until 3 something in morning before heading off, its total victory this year! Well, that basically sums up how New Year's Eve has been for me, this year we'll probably just gather somewhere with air-con for makan rather than braving the streets of BB again.
