Guess.

Fancy guessing where I'm at currently?

I'm in the office, not that difficult to guess, right? The centralized AC is not set to operate on Sundays (even machines get a day off), resulting poor Jed sweating it out like a burst pipe, literally, earlier on. I almost swore and cursed to dehydration. Fortunately, with a little thought, a seperate self-maintained AC and a spare notebook, I'm in a much more comfortable environment now.

Nah, just wrote this to remind myself that I've worked on this day thus can later accumulate these working weekends into my leaves. Hehehe.

And also because today is the last day of September. Tomorrow onwards, we're heading into the final quarter of 2007 and someone will be attending classes morning till night.

Jen Day!

Hellou Jen. Time really flies as this would already be the second birthday wish from me to you. Seems like it was just yesterday that I first met you. Anyway, since my archive's in KL and I can't find any recent images of you here, I've decided to do the ultimate and draw you a birthday card! Using MS paint only! Fuh, I am so talented.

Salam harijadi juga. Sajelah nak berBM jugak. Semoga segala cita-cita dan juga kehendak anda termakbul dalam masa yang paling singkat. Jangan tension dan stress sangat, nanti kepala meletups! Hahaha.

Happy Birthday Jenifer Alicia Ooi Mei Lin! May all your wishes come true! May your wishlist get fulfilled. Live your dream! Stay cool and happy and spontaneous and all that!

p/s: those squarish stuff are supposed to be confettis, should any of you fail to realize.

Demotivated.

I'm quite demotivated to work lately and I think its affecting my blogging as well, I've been deleting more drafts rather than completing them. Working late has become a thing of the past and I simply cringe at the thought of coming to office during weekends, which unfortunately, I have to, for this coming Saturday and Sunday. Yup, its THAT bad, sigh. Is this a sign that I should start scanning for another opportunity elsewhere? Or is it Fated ala Adrian?

I kinda managed to list down a few probable cause to the above situation ::

(i) Uncertainties abundant. There's no solid plan for the current project as the dateline keeps getting postponed, so flexible like yoga! Its as though it'll never gonna end! Working on the same stuff again and again and over-again is never a good thing.

(ii) Uncertainties abundant 2. At the same time, I keep getting thrown into minor enhancement projects which I totally hate it! Anything worst than finding a dead cockroach in your Maggi Goreng Sotong has got to be assigned to a completed project with 0% knowledge and 100% expectations.

(iii) Uncertainties abundant 3. I have absolutely no idea what's the plan after I completed the 6 months assignment here. When inquired, I get, we'll see as things go. WTF! Imagine you asking me the progress of the module and I answer the same thing lah, can?

(iv) Uncertainties abundant 4. Resource management crisis, to date, I have changed 3 different PCs and worked on 6 different notebooks.

(v) Colleagues from hell, possible reincarnation from flies or mosquitoes. Both having attitude problems, one having the skills but think too highly of himself and bad at communicating, while the other not having the skills but also think very highly of himself. The other day I screwed the latter, giving him a huge piece of my mind and suddenly, he became much more approachable. :)

I wonder how my PM manage to deal with them so easily, perhaps he has tolerance + 100.

(vi) Unappreciated.

(vii) This is totally personal. I miss the girlfriend. I miss my family and friends. I miss life in KL.

I shall head home early today in preparation for an awful day ahead, and the day after tomorrow.

Ajisen Ramen, again.

Seems as though I dine there too frequent lately, should consider getting a membership there. Anyway, New Ramen alert! New Ramen alert! Went there the other time when Adrianne came visiting, somehow we just ended up there, like, automatic. And yesterday, I had it again for lunch with E, who had the Volcano Ramen and nearly died-ed in an attempt to finish it.

The Chilli Soft Shell Crab Ramen. There's also the Black Pepper version of it. I felt that the ramen should be dry instead of soup-based because eventually, the crab would become soggy making it less appetizing. Just a thought though.

The glittering Chuka Idako (Seasoned Baby Octopus) that comes with the Soggy Crab Ramen.

Chicken Teriyaki Ramen, the girlfriend's all time favourite, the only dry version of ramen available. I still prefer soup-based. It felt like eating the dry version of 'ban min'. I curied a piece of crab from Adrianne, hahaha.

My all time favourite side dish, Fried Octopus. Sedaps + Huge Portion, what more can you ask for? What more? Tell me.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

Jed and the girlfriend wishes you Jung Chau Jit Fai Lok.

I have a box of MoonCakes, assorted flavour, all to myself because the Landlord bought them for me even though I've mentioned there's no need to do so when I bought a box for them. What am I supposed to do with so many mooncakes? And to think that I was planning to buy one earlier on as I headed home (which I didn't in the end), the least is to have some mooncake during this special occasion right? Now, its an overdose.

In KL, I would normally head over to my Aunt's (Mum's Elder Sis to be exact) house for some prayers and lots of tidbits, the usual groundnuts, jellies, mooncakes, pomelo, yams, more fruits and more unknown but edible items. We still light up a few lanterns, just for the occasion and I guess we've pretty much grown out of lighting candles then sticking them everywhere.

Indirectly, we're doing our part in minimizing global warming.

SG-bound.

Time pass the fastest when you're happy. All too soon, I'm onboard the coach again, awaiting for its departure to Singapore. And through the window, I can see the girlfriend walking towards her car, the distance between us getting further and further by the second, the setting being so familiar.

It might be all too familiar but I guess its something that we can never get used to. A smile, a hug, a kiss, much reluctance then a parting, it has always been that way. And after going our seperate ways, it will be the next reunion that we look forward to.

In actual fact, there's a lot more that I wished to write here but I guess I'll just save it for another day.

Sunday.

Cancelled a morning appointment due to unforeseen circumstances.

***

Headed out for a top secret mission late in the morning. Hopefully, no regrets. Less than 5 individuals are aware of it at the moment.

Don't ask me, I won't tell.

***

Bumped into her relatives, her cousins have grown so much. I felt old all of a sudden. One of them, in Form 2, is already nearly as tall as I am.

***

Went to the Secret Recipe outlet in Pandan Indah for lunch (around 2 something) with the girlfriend, joined by Adrianne and Viper. You will never be able to find another SR outlet that is more empty than this one.

Great for gathering!

***

Out for dinner. Dad ordered as I park my car, Sis was with me. Without us as constraints, Dad went on an Ordering Frenzy, boosted by SteamPacks. There was Soup, Veggy in Superior Soup, Steamed Fish, Steamed Chicken, Salted Egg Crab, Claypot Tofu, some Pumpkin Seafood thingy, and Shark's Fin. For 6 person.

We had to pack the chicken and the crab. Its an impossible feat to finish everything.

***

Bumped into her other relatives and I felt old again. Her young cousins have grown so much that they're no longer cute.

Also found out that compiling clips into a playable video DVD format is not a simple task.

***

That pretty much sums up the weekend. Quite eventful I should say.

***

Totally irrelevant and just to brighten things up, here are some images of StarVirgo taken whilst waiting for departure at Harbourfront Center. I feel like going on a cruise.

I wanna go on a cruise.

I wanna go on a cruise 2.

Saturday.

15 minutes past 1AM. Late, yet again. KL still looks pretty much alive even at at this odd hour. Anyway, it feels really good to be home. Watched Forrest Gump on the way home.

***

Headed out early in the morning to have my car serviced, somewhere near Segambut, I think. Lack of sleep might have caused lost of appetite, only took two slices of Roti Bakar Telur and Ice Horlicks *yums*

Had to replace the antenna because according to Dad, some bugger stole it. Curse that fella, antennas shall grow on his/her/its head.

***

Light lunch at favourite TeoChew Food Stall. Should have ordered Claypot Chicken Rice. Sis who initially declined my invitation requested for a take-away much later. ISH! Had my usual dose of Hung Dau Ping as well.

Its one of those places where food is good and cheap.

***

Had Rum & Raisins while she had Green Tea ice-cream @ Pandan Indah while waiting for a certain someone to complete her lessons.

No matter what you say Leech, Rum & Raisins will rulez forever!!!!! Hahaha!

***

Had dinner before proceeding to Cyberjaya for her mini pool-side-no-throwing-into-water gathering. In Cyberia to be exact, my off-campus accomodation few years back. Surrounded by facilities now, it's no longer as secluded as it used to be.

Brought back lots of memories, aahhhhh, how time flies.

Swarmed by mosquitoes. Contributed a lot to the natural food chain.

And I felt so relaxed and at peace when driving to Cyberjaya. Minimal traffic, clear and empty roads. Might be due to the girlfriend being asleep as well. :P

***

Headed to Steven's Corner Pandan Indah for mamaking session with KYtheMonkey and his future Mrs. Kinda felt that I'm having more outings with couples/married couples of late, is this some sort of sign? *shrugs it off*

Had a plate of maggi goreng. *Yums* Why can't maggi goreng in Singapore taste like that?

***

Home. Could hardly keep my eyes open when I tried to channel surf for a moment. Just because I missed Astro.

Home-bound.

I'm heading home later, the 8pm bus to be exact and if all goes well, I should be reaching KL around 1am! I'm anxious and can hardly contain my excitement, it has been more than 2 months since I last stepped foot home/into KL. Kinda feel as though I'm going on a holiday. Ironic.

Except for Monday, my schedule is pretty close to being fully packed for the weekend, from morning to night. It'll definitely be more hectic than spending them here but that's the way I like it. I also foresee an additional 3kg gained.

Till I see you again, cheers.

Eat Rice.

Finally decided to give the 'dai chao' stall, located in the food court that we frequent, a try. Come to think of it, there's not much difference between 'dai chao' and 'zhap fan' right? Its still side dishes with rice, perhaps on a larger scale, and definitely more expensive. To be more precise, one single 'dai chao' meal for two would probably be equivalent to 11 meals on 'zhap fan' but that is also depending on the dishes ordered. What's with that look? Anyway, that aside, these were what we had on that day.

2 men. 4 dishes. 35 minutes.

Grilled stingray with belacan sauce. It's very common in SG that their stingrays, grilled or BBQed or whatever, are always cooked with belacan, instead of curry powder, KL style. Jed no likes belacan.

Stingray on rice. Somehow, when typing the precious sentence, I kept remembering those 'On Ice' performances. Disney on ice. Swan Lake on ice. etc. etc.

Marmite chicken was good. Notice its all the wing's part? Don't ask me why, I don't know.

Teppan Tofu. With Prawns. I love these type of tofu, not really sure of its exact name but I usually call them Japanese tofu.

Last but not least, must have a plate of vegetables. Stir-Fried 'dau miu'.

Taste wise, its alright but its definitely more affordable than eating in Lau Pa Sat. This stall is located at the Food Court (the outer one) right beside the Jurong Entertainment Center (JEC) and the Jurong Library.

Whooopsss.

# This morning, onboard the MRT, one bugger's ringtone was so loud that it rudely awaken a few of the seated passengers in front of me who were initially dozing off. They were visibly startled. So funny. It was Angela Zhang's song, unsure of the name though.

# Initiated Project101.

# Currently playing Luminous Arc (stuck on beating Zehaal, ish, keep on kena Charm), Hotel Dusk 215 and Metroid Prime Hunters (stuck on the 4th planet trying to get the new weapon, stupid morphing bomb jump!)

# McLaren's Constructor Points stripped off. :)

# E bought a new pair of glasses, those thick-framed types. He'll look different beginning tomorrow. Talking bout him, a lot of our colleagues thought we're siblings. Weird. Must be all those curry.

# The thought of heading home for the weekend is keeping me distracted from everything else. Dang!

# Not really sure why but I have this sudden urge to rap in Canto/Mandarin, though the success rate would probably be like, 5%.

# I just realized that I spend an average of 2 from a total of 8 working hours a day replying mails. That's pretty insane! I'm a developer, for goodness sake! Perhaps I should consider forwarding all those mails off, hehehe.

# I bought a box of pretty mini-snowskin mooncakes for my lanlaord and his family. It feels good to give. I got a glass of home-brewed Herbal Tea in return, unexpectedly.

# Indecivise Individual + Another Indecisive Individual = Stoning.

# Counting down :: 4 days to go.

Lemon Garden Cafe, Shangri-La.

Long Overdue Post (LOP). Buffet dinner @ above-mentioned, girlfriend's treat. Jam-packed with families, unsure of the real cause but suspect its for Mother's Day, which was around the corner. Felt that the service was quite slow, refills not done promptly and utensils were not cleared off immediately, might be due to overwhelming amount of diners but no excuses! And it was a little too warm for my liking, hhmmm... Looking around, things seems a little chaotic for me with waiters and waitresses rushing here and there. Imagine having to head into the restaurant again to look for someone to attend to me at the cashier's counter *rolls-eyes* Or maybe my expectations were a little high caused by recommendations and praises by others.

Fortunately, the spread were ample and not-disappointing, with local delights, western grills, japanese seafood, italian pastas, chinese dim sums and so on. Best catch was definitely the desserts, like, a kid in candyland all over again. Were not able to try everything there but I guess I managed to cover about 70% perhaps and regrettably missing on one item what I really wanted, the deep-fried soft shell crab. I tell you, its quite an impossible task because the first person in line would take about 60% of everything, then the second in line, most probably related to the first, takes everything else. Needs 2 person because 2 plates can't fill everything. Should have a limit like, 5 pieces to person, ala controlled items.

Things people would do for food. The light blue wall in my room which I painted myself, very pretty Hoh? Hoh? Hoh?

The free food vouchers and its envelope. Eating utensils, there's something for everything and the environment, way, way earlier.

Drinking glass. Chocolate Fountain which was quite huge, there's a seperate one for white chocolate, I think. Local delights, rendangs, satay, curry and other high cholestrol stuff. A seperator.

Shark's Fin Soup I think. Not nice. The forever unreacheable Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab. Must be fated. Grilled/BBQed stuff... prawns, chickens, muttons, crayfish, etc. etc. Bottom right, Italian cuisine, the centerpiece being a chocolate pizza.

Dim Sums. Doesn't look really appetizing eh? Walking around with a camera snapping pictures is not an easy task, especially when everyone else is taking food.

Japanese Food. Oishi. Crabs, Oysters, Mussels, Crayfish, Prawns, Crabs. But eveything's chilled, not really my cup of tea.

Sushi, Sashimi and Scallops. Towards later, they actually served HUGE ASS Scallops, like, 10 times the size you're seeing above. Pengsan can? I think my batt went flat at that time.

Some chinese food. An unknown coffee-ish dessert. Cod fish Jed no like. The forgotten plate of food, looks like satay with chilled lobster? Some ketupat as well.

Salad bar. Just beautiful.

Some mini lobster thingy, looks more like a large prawn. Baked Dory? Some potatoes and meat, hahaha. That meat, too chewy.

Prawns and Beef *blood pressure sky high* Ice-cream (blergh). Fruits and more desserts, green tea thingy and more fruits from the chocie fountain. And last but not least...

Look at all the choices!!! ZOMG! I can just go there and munch on desserts only. Sweetness Overdose.

More. So beautiful that it takes more than an empty stomach to make you eat them.

And there you have it, the torture ends, right here, right now. No more. And I would like to apologize for my inability to name every food item, its just been too long. And I ate too much. Anyway, hungry yet?

Wise Man Says (2).

"You know its a Miriam Yeung overdose when you're listening to her songs, not from one album, not from two albums but a total of forty seven (that's 47) songs from various albums, on the loop."

All thanks to E for sending me the link. He said this compilation was produced by her previous company as she's leaving for a new management or something like that. Confirm case want to reap the maximum profit while still having the chance ler. Anyway, ever notice how her hair is always so colourful? And she's always laughing? Then can suddenly cry? Hhhmmmm...

Also happy 65th monthliversary to the girlfriend as well. Suddenly, this question struck my mind. So, after getting married, are we supposed to reset this counter or what?

I'm OK.

Just post this up to inform all of you that I am alright albeit feeling slightly dizzy at times as a result of experiencing too many minor tremors (3 times in less than 24 hours). Other than that, these experiences have kept me on an alert mode, not forgetting to mention extra sensitive as well, detecting these swaying sensations.

However, these are nothing compared to the Quake that caused the Tsunami as I was staying on the 12th floor back then. The tremors was so bad that it woke me up, then panic ensues before we finally came to our senses and rushed down for safety. The police then arrived and refused us admittance, fearing strong aftershocks. Damn havoc I tell you. A lot of pretty girls in pyjamas too *ahems*. I remember a a friend of mine in wet shirt and a towel with shampoo still on his hair, ROFLS!

Anyway, I hope that the recent quakes only caused minimal casualties and damages.

Wise Man Says.

"It is time to be in Facebook when Sis sends you an invitation."

I think the aspect of being in an environment where the working culture differs so much from my own is finally taking its toll on me. To the extend that the temptation of punching the *censor*censor* right in front of me straight in the face is becoming more and more unbearable. Its even causing my heartbeat to be irregular at times, too fast when I'm pissed and too slow when I'm speechless.

Im experiencing a minor tremor now. Gotta run!

Updated :: The above-mentioned tremor was caused by an earthquake measuring 8.5 on the Ritcher Scale, south-west of the Sumatran town of Bengkulu last evening around 7 plus. Quite a strong one since it was felt even though I was just on the fifth floor. Scary.

Silent Night.

Keep your umbrellas, I'm not planning to sing. Here's a view of some residential area in Singapore, post-midnight, taken from the 20th floor of a HDB Flat. And no, I did not intentionally sneak into some random flats nor did I plan to do it after midnight to avoid detection for these pictures.

Pretties or not? And the white thingy in the middle is not a smiley face, I repeat, not a smiley face. Give it a guess, that is, if you want to.

Rows and Columns after Columns and Rows of flats. Anyway, its really windy up here.

Something Stupid.

I have so much to talk about that I think I'm going to explode from information overload. Well, instead of blaming it on my job again, I think I'll blame it on everything else other than that. What say you? It'll definitely be different and refreshing, just like the scent from a fresh lemon when sliced in two.

I'll blame it on Yuna Ito for mesmerizing me with her incredible voice that draws me into a dreamy state for the longest time ever.

I'll blame it on the notebook for its slow performance that caused me to spend a lot of time waiting during compilation and debugging.

I'll blame it on myself for not being able to locate a room with wireless connection so what I can blog after reaching home around 9-10pm, on average.

I'll blame it on myself again for spending on a DS instead of a notebook so that I can at least photoshop my pictures nicely hence resulting in more updates because beautiful pictures = happy jed = blog more often.

I'll blame it on Channel 5 for airing too many great series that it drew my attention away from drafting my blogs on notepad so that I can post it up the following day.

Woah, look at the time, gotta run. I'll continue some other time.

Also, I'm on Facebook because Adrian said, "Register only mah". Search me by my full name. If you so happen to have no idea what my full name is, you deserve to be restricted from Ice Cream for the rest of your life.

Got miss me or not?

Super Lame Image of me taken by E in the KL office because he wanted to try out MMS-ing which is very shocking because he had owned that phone for close to 2 years and have yet to out MMSing but what is even more shocking is that he's using my picture as his virgin subject which is quite weird in a way but of course I refused to think any futher and please do not ask why and my goodness why am I saying all these as the real purpose behind this post is to see whether you peeps missed me or not so I post up my picture but then again it's not the most recent one and half my face is covered by my fingers so not that it'll make any difference still I just wanted to clear the images from my phone. Fuh. My fingers nearly dieded.

Donut Krazeee.

Is for real here and I think this phenomena has already been ongoing for sometime. There's bound to be a long queue whenever you see a doughnut shop, its like magic. Doughnut shop, long queue. Doughnut shop, long queue. Doughnut shop, long queue. I should head around interviewing individuals ala Edisi Siasat to reveal the reason behind the craze for these doughy treats.

Fueled mainly by curiosity, some weeks back, E & I gave it a shot, are the doughnuts really THAT good and irresistable that people are willing to queue patiently for them?

Destination :: Vinco in VivoCity (just found out that they've changed their name to Dippin' Donut)
Estimated time in queue :: 25 minutes
Actual time in queue :: 18 minutes
Results :: Half a dozen of doughnuts in varieties.
Chocolate Delight, Mon Cheri, Royal Cheese, Some peanut thingy which does not seems to be available anymore, Chocolate Cinnamon and Cinnamon Caramel (I think)

Lo and Behold, Doughnuts that requires some effort and patience to be purchased.

Doughnuts, halved, so that each of us can taste all of the flavours.

In conclusion, I honestly think that there's nothing special/magical with them, with E in total agreement. It tasted like how normal doughnuts would be, with different toppings, just like how a plain naan would be compared to cheese or garlic naan. It'll definitely be a while before I can bring myself to queue for doughnuts again. Or perhaps I should try Donut Factory which seems to have a greater following.

Signing off, in the words of Homer Simpson, "MMMmmm Doughnuts".

p/s: Pictures were taken using my phone's camera, hence the quality.

And words are all I have.

Happiness is when I finally get to see, touch and feel the girlfriend after an absence of 5 weeks.

Weird is the taste of Avocado Juice, even when mixed with chocolate.

Shopaholic is the Sis spending 70% of her awake time shopping, from Orchard (covered 80% of all the complexes there) to Bugis to Plaza Singapura to Queensway. Didn't help when the schedule coincides with Orchard's Late Night Shopping, which offers additional discount.

Bleeding is the current state of my wallet. Further damage incurred due to rent payment.

Fated is when the opportunity to meet up with the gang faded away eventually even though they were nearby for a moment. Damn fated is when it occured twice.

Agony is the feeling when there's limited cab with a long queue and I'm shit tired, due to Shopaholic. :P

Typical is when every other individual I just met thought that Sis is the younger sibling when in actual fact, its the other way round.

Amazing is the ability of Sis to get 5 pairs of sandals, a pair of sneakers and a pair of slippers in less than 48 hours.

Surrender is when Ifinally head for the 10 Dollars 10 Minutes Hair Cut Booths while shopping after endless nagging from the girlfriend. A failure. There'll be even less pictures of me now over the already little.

Gone is the state of my legs after hours of walking, even though I'm wearing sneakers, all thanks to Shopaholic, again. :P

Sadness is the feeling when the bus begins to depart with the girlfriend waving goodbye and there's nothing much that I can do about it.

Sunday, September 02, 2007

A Summary.

Of the weekend where the girlfriend and Sis came visiting from KL.

Friday :: Shopping

Saturday :: Shopping

Sunday :: Shopping

More updates later, if I'm able to find something to elaborate on further.
