Kwan Tai Temple in Tai O village. Right outside of the temple is a public square (with an emergency button stand nearby) where some karaoke system was being set up the time we were passing by. Such a close-knit community.
Taken when crossing the pedestrian steel bridge, replacing the previous rope drawn ferrying system managed by the locals. See how progress often bring about convenience and killed off age old practices/cultures?
Strolled further towards Yeung Hau temple which was unfortunately closed - either it was closed for public that day or we were a little too late, hence, we just chilled there. Passed by convenience stores, old ladies chatting outside their respective houses, lost tourists, children on bicycles and trolley pushing men.
One last photo before we proceeded to the bus stop. Tai O village is truly a paradise compared to the hustle and bustle of the city center, the air is much cooler and fresher, everything is much more laid back, people are more friendly and approachable, you can even walk at a much slower pace here. Truly, simplicity at its best.
