Starting our day at the outlet mall in Tung Chung with my definition of a healthy breakfast at Food Republic. Meat, meat and more meat - give me my meat else, I kill jiu!!! On a side note, perhaps I can make a mission out of dining in all the Food Republic(s) in this world before I die - so far, its only Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
A quick round of shopping later, queued for the Cable car to Ngong Ping village, Lantau Island which was fortunately really short as compared to my colleagues experience where the line reached all the way to the mall. But most unfortunately, it was a Special (Rate) Day which was slightly more expensive and to think that we were expecting discounts initially.
Cable car ride to the village. Big Buddha (Tian Tan Buddha) seen on the top left corner of the photo and the white colored trail would be the path for individuals seeking a more adventurous journey to the village, trekking, that is. If I had the time, I would.
Said village, got Starbucks in village yo! Don't play-play. Notice the emoticon on the t-shirt of that random person on the lower right corner of the photo? It totally expressed what I felt of the weather that particular day.
Soon enough, I can foresee a notice next to the wishing shrine saying something along the line of "Please be reminded that this is a Wishing Shrine and not a Take a Photo of Me Shrine"
Finally making our way to the Big Buddha, its a long, long way to go especially when your feet and toes hurt from blisters and a hey, hey sunny day - should really have brought along an umbrella.
A last look at the village directory before proceeding to make sure that we wouldn't get lost, just kidding. Pete might have been here a thousand times before, else, there's always Mr. Tan to help us around.
