Sentosa Pt. 2

Next in line was the Carlsberg Sky Tower where I seriously think they should've considered distributing free beer (to those legal of age lah), that would be a really great selling point, don't ya think so? At least for me, I mean, if it was not included in the package, never would I have even slightly considered paying $12 dollars just to be gently revolved up, then down the 131 metres tower, for 7 minutes in a slightly stuffy environment (weak air conditioning). Of course, unless if you enjoy sceneries, clear blue skies for the day and city lights (if clearly visible) at night. I would still stick to my idea of free beer. Oh, not forgetting, yet another photography scam here ($20 dollars as well). I can't help but to be reminded of Genting, where for everything you feel like doing, you have to pay first, besides using the washroom I guess, and taking pictures.

Adjourned to Skybar to get our dose of Sky Cooler, which I initially thought would be Iced Water since Sky refers to sky juice and cooler, ice, what else? Instead, it turned out to be Sprite (or 7-Up, couldn't remember) with mint flavouring plus a marshmallow on the straw, which I had no idea on whether its just a decoration, or its edible. Being me, I just ate it, don't care but I have to admit that the drink, its certainly refreshing. Some of us went to redeem the Merlion photos (forgot about it earlier on) while the others sat and chilled in the relaxing environment.

View of Singapore and some harbour (HarbourFront) when revolving up the Sky Tower.

Isn't it great, if the Battleships have this kind of settings and simulations, HMS Washington, navigate to B4 and fire at will!!!

Another view. It revolves, remember?

Sky Coolers as Skybar. The one without the Marshmallow is mine, aahhrrmmm!!! Yums!

Destination, Fort Siloso. Took the feeder bus to the final stop of our package just to find it closing off for the day, at approximately 5.30pm. So sad can! I wanted to check out all the guns and cannons! I wanted to explore all the old tunnels! The photographs! The documents!! Film strips!!! Nevermind, there'll always be a next time since the admission fee is not really that expensive anyway. And so, we headed to Siloso Beach instead where once again, I was a little overdressed, thought not as bad as the other time, its just tee, jeans and sneakers.

Contrary to popular beliefs, Siloso Beach is not laden with bikini babes spotting killer abs and hour-glass figures, perfectly tanned skin, running and giggling around happily. Or maybe I chose a wrong time to be there, the word disappointment must be written all over my face since the girlfriend asked me if everything's alright. Sigh. On a different note, you know what, after being to Lang Tengah, all the other beaches that I head to, doesn't seem to interest me anymore, even the slightest bit. The sand here is rough and coarse, the seawater, no idea since I didn't try it out. Swimming in just plain underwear is a no-no for me. Walked around for a while, crossed some floating wooden platform to the other side, snap some pictures then it was time to call it a day, since all our stomachs were asking to be fed, rumbling madly. No to forget, while re-crossing the platform towards the main island, the girlfriend saw a young couple in the water, the boy was kinda stationary while the girl was moving up and down, as though they were having *ahems* some exciting fun. In the end, I still have no idea what they were really doing.

Part of Siloso, suring sunset. See for yourself, everywhere, guys in shirts > girls in bikini.

Rames's favourite obsession, clouds, clouds and more clouds.

View of Siloso Beach from across the floating wooden platform.

Meet the tree hugging environmentalist. Lucky tree.

Her, doing the infamous SmashPop jump @ Siloso beach. How Pop? Happy and proud or not? Forgive me for the quality though.

And this is the girlfriend, at various attempts trying to capture a jumping shot of me. Needless to say, she gave up.

Walked from one end to the other end of Siloso Beach, which was like, half the total length of Sentosa, not that big after all, eh? Well, all in all, I would say that Sentosa is filled with interesting but pricey activities to do and places to visit. Basically, one full day is close to enough in order to experience almost everything unique the Island has to offer, should consider offering cheaper packages, eh? One thing that is bugging my mind, since Sentosa is not THAT far away from the mainland, how come everything is slightly more expensive? Its not like Genting where they had to send it so far up. *wonders away*

Last but not least, a short clip of the sunset there. Nothing amazing though, keep your expectations low. HeHes.
