Chinese Desserts.

Dearest Mummy made one of my favourite desserts, Fan Shue Tong Sui and honestly, let me clarify with y'all firsthand that I have absolutely no idea what its supposed to be called in English. Tapioca in Sugar Water? Do inform you if you happen to know, pretty please. Its a pretty simple dish, the ingredient consist mainly of tapiocas, sago, sugar and some ginger but the outcome, totally irresistable, at least for me. Basically, the sugar is dissolved to make the sweet soup which would be the base, while the ginger, just to add a slice of heatiness (as in the taste, not temperature) into the soup. The tapiocas, Mum normally uses a variety of them, mainly the purple ones, the yellowish ones and the orangy ones, each having their own texture and sometimes, distinct taste. They're cut into cubes for better flavouring, as well as, easier to consume, obviously.. The sago, I'm not really sure what they're for, make the concoction thicker and stronger perhaps because without them, it just doesn't taste the same, its as if one of the main ingredients are missing. How to cook, I'm not too sure... but logically, should be make the base first, then add in the tapiocas then finally the sago. Anything else, go figure.

Tadah. Tapiocas in the pot, generous servings! The white-ish ingredient you see is not radish, its come kind of plant normally used for herbal soups (Yuk Juk)

Marvellous stuff! The girlfriend loves them as well.

At this point of time, Mum was already getting annoyed with me snapping away instead of eating the dessert. In a way or another, she said I was a little nutty.

On a totally different note, I came across this when surfing through Mr.Brown's site. It's a reality series, or rather, talent competition that revolves around singing, I guess in the UK. Some of you might have probably came across it before, but for those who hasn't, die-die also must watch. I had to admit that it almost made me teared, do tell if you happen to experience the same. Now sit down, wait patiently for it to load, and watch!

She managed to make it to the Finals, but it was won by a Mobile salesperson who sang opera, like a pro.

p/s: This has been the longest run of posts that didn't receive any comments at current time (18 posts). Nobody loves me anymore, so sad... :P
