OMiGosh... *curses everything around* Yesterday I posted something, but its not there; Aaarrrggghhh!!! Have to re-type everything again! I hate to re-type!!! Uuurrrggghhh... Train-of-thought gone... *swears on everything possible*
* 15 minutes later *
First and foremost, I, the proud owner of jedrantsagain would like to extend the highest and upmost gratitude to I.X. of Infectioner Xtreme for such level of dedication and admiration for I, an unknown humble being roaming these vast lands. Not only I was linked at the top position in his Extreme Bloggers list, he now dedicates an entire entry for me. You shall forever be remembered until you are forgotten. And indeed, because of his selfless act in honoring moi, I may never again be able to find the appetite to consume KFC or McD anymore...
So, I.X., in return, I dedicate these to you...
"Thou shalt never hath a lady for companion as long as thou shalt be consuming fast food; mayth the Higher Beings hath pity on thee"
* Laughs in the most evil manner while still spraying water on I.X. who is still bound to a tree, make that a durian tree *
Of Bad Comments
Nah, its not referring to ya'll, who's actually reading this. It's for those ding-a-dongs who posted those advert-like comments in my entries, luring innocent victims into some gambling sites which will most probably cheat all your money, infest your machine with worms and spy-wares, and messing up your surfing by millions of pop-ups for free stuff, porn, other gmabling sites..yadah, yadah...
But, not to blame them totally for everything as part of the incident will be of my fault for not setting up the comments moderation option; hence, from this day onwards, Jed shall no longer tolerate with such abuse *initiates the comment moderation*. I curse thee who place the adverts on my comments to be forever spammed with junk mails on their inboxes, and that their letter boxes shall be forever filled with trash and junk fliers *mumbles some elvish chants*. If you had been a victim of these abuse, chant with me; else if you are generous and decided to be forgiving, just give a hope to me that my chant works...
Of SG Cabbies
Previously, I did mention that late night OTs (without OT pay, mind you) has been preventing me from leading a normal life, which includes blogging as part of the routine. The last train would be either @ 11.15 or 11.30pm, as mentioned to me by my colleague who does not take any trains; and the late nights usually range to somewhere past midnight. Cabbies in SG includes an additional 50% surcharge on the total fare, inclusive of the pick-up fare of $2.40, for midnight rides *jen, hear that or not? Don't get stoned in Zouk!!!*
So, the other day, I hailed one @ 1.30am, got in and began my journey home. Jolly and chatty Uncle, though its wee hour in the morning. We talked, we talked, we laughed about and then I put on my safety belt, and he laughed summore. Why? Because the cabby dude was driving @ an average of 120km/h! I mean that's super fast dude, I was home in a mere 11 minutes, for a 13.8km journey!!! Mind me to say that we were not travelling on Highways... SG Cabbies can totally OWN MY (as in Malaysia, not my/mine, would be good to be owning them though... ah, riches, come to papa!) Cabbies anytime, anywhere! But the cost burnt a hole in my wallet... *sobz*
Of Chinatown
Last Sunday, like so long ago, I was headed out for dinner as usual. Per norm, I would normally hunt around the Net to find someplace interesting to get food, but that particular day, I was just too darn lazy. So, I headed out, without any particular destination, and will stop @ anyplace with food for dinner. At the entrance to Outram Park, I was feeling a little adventurous and decided to venture into the unknown world beyond the station. I bought some bread to make bread crumb trails so that if I ever got lost, I could always backtrack to where I began, back to the familiar world. So, I walked ...
... and I walked ...
... walked summore ...
... hey, this is SG, walking far is normal ...
... breadcrumb trails, checked ...
... hhhhmmm ...
... Don Cha wish your boyfriend could walk like me ...
... I can go the distance (only with an MP3 player in hand) ...
Further ahead, I... I .. .I ... I reach ... Chinatown!!! OhMiGosh, I knew that it was a station away through the NorthEast Line, but I never though it was within walking distance *OK, I know I'm a bit jakun, but I'm foreign leh...* The sad thing is, since my objective was heading out for a quick bite, I never brought my camera along, bad move. Erm, in 1 word, Chinatown in darn Chinese! It makes me feel like home, because a lot of people were speaking in cantonese, OK!OK! mostly aunties and ahpaks... There were loads of old-school Chinese architecture shophouses around, with quite a number of complexes too, which some are pretty old (those that upon entering, gives you the "waliao, old school man" kind of feel.
I headed till Furama building (which is like after so much more walking), to which I spied with my own eyes, nothing much ahead; thus I headed back. There was one huge ass pedestrian crossing with gardens and pondoks, leading to a street quite similar to our very own Chee Cheong Kai (Petaling Street). Throngs of vendors but please be reminded that are no Adeedas nor Leeboks here (harlo, this is SG lar...). And I did dicover 2 other Jia Xiangs there, which were not that far apart, and I don't know why there were 2 of them... Oh, about what I ate, some special fried rice in some kopitiam which tastes ok...
On my way back, of all greats and marvels in Chinatown, I just have to stumble upon this. Nope, I did not patronize it because I neither fancy to watch it on big-ass screen in public nor watching it with other unknown strangers... Since I ventured too far off course, I kind of forgotten my way back, but fear not, I still have my trail of breadcrumbs as my guide. But lo and behold, they're gone!!! Must be the wind, or the birds, or maybe the auntie sweeping the floor cursing at me who left those breadcrumbs lying around... It took me an additional hour to find my way home, freaking tiring...
That's all the updates I have currently. Yah, btw, SmashpOp's pimping results are out and as predicted, I did not win anything... Congrats to all winners!!! Maybe I'll just 'ugut' smash for some banners... I will be missing another of my cousin's wedding tonight, anyhow, my heartiest congrats to them!!! Shucks, gotta head to office later, there goes my weekend... *sobz*. And I just heard a loud explosion earlier and now I'm smelling Shitake Mushrooms in the air, hhhmmm... Roasted Shitakes? Yummy...
Oh, if you believed (even slightly) about the breadcrumb thingy... May the Higher Being have more mercy on you...
