I've just completed all the 276 episodes and felt like playing basketball all over again, although I suck big time at it. Now I know why it was once regarded the #1 manga of all times, SlamDunk is absolutely a masterpiece. If you're interested as well, just head on over to onemanga.com, its free and all you need to do is prevent your colleagues, supervisor or managers from knowing. Sheeeee...
In actual fact, back in 1998 was when I first came across this series and was so captivated by it that I even went for the chinese version, even though tak faham langsung, just to keep up with the latest chapters. Just flip through, don't care. Well, if you know not, normally for japanese mangas, the chinese version will be published much, much sooner.
I recall that I didn't get to finish the whole thing, missing out a little on the beginning, some mid parts and the ending was by verbal. So sad.
Aha, back then, a group of us was so into SlamDunk that we formed our own Shohoku basketball team and since there were 5 of us, we each took one character. We even had a look-a-like Anzai Sensei but much younger, lols. The truth is, only 2 of us knew how to play back then and we didn't even have a basketball court in school, so much for thinking of becoming a dream team eh?
But we did have practise sessions on Saturdays at a court nearby our friend's place where we would normally lepak. Ah, those were the days where everything seemed possible.
