Have Some Dim Sum.

Rushed over to TeoChew Restaurant from Thean Hou Temple after completing the submission to join the usuals, jen, junn, jacklyn, jed, hikaru, rames who was forced into submission hahaha, eunice and maykuan, for a dim sum breakfast. The restaurant is located just beside BTS and opposite of Old Pudu Jail, also next to the infamous Teo Chew Porridge restaurant.

We reached there just a little later than the agreed time, so did hikaru, kesian junn wait so long there and rames was really weird cause he parked all the way back in Sg Wang, till now I still don't know why. then eunice and maykuan arrived, and finally, jen. Actually we already started makan before everyone was there, super hungry cannot tahan already.

random, unnecessary picture

eggtarts! zomg I love eggtarts! this one, the crust was alright but the filling was really too little hence making the chewing experience quite dry. ah, I'm craving for some Tong Kee eggtarts right now.

As in every dim sum restaurant, they serve the steamed stuff like Har Kaw and Siu Mai, the fried stuff such as Lo Bak Gou, Chee Cheong Funs and desserts. Additionally, the restaurant also offers a variety of congees as well as barbequed meat, in which the waitresses will pester us to order some every once in a while (5 minutes intervals perhaps) and to me, that is extremely annoying.

WALIAO HELLO WTF LAH I heard you the first time and if I want some I will order can? That was what I wanted to shout into their ears but I didn't because I'm civilized thank you. Also, unfortunately, due to some miscommunication, jacklyn made the order for our pot of chinese tea and which resulted a nightmare for all of us and you shall know why later on. Keywords for the day would be penang, not sedap but order also, drink 30 cups of tea and some other random stuff.

some fried fishballs, mini dragon dumplings yang memang tau tak sedap but someone insisted on ordering, siu mais and har kaws (prawn dumplings)

prawn chee cheong funs, some unknown stuff that jen likes and fried lobak cake

jen's fingers, hikaru's fingers holding the most expensive plate of char siew I've ever eaten, the scallop porridge that was surprisingly quite cheap, and some fried foo-chuk with prawns that squirts out oil with every bite.

Well, if you ask me about the food, I wouldn't really know since I normally dine in those kopitiam-ish dim sum shops. So, according to our dim sum expert, miss jacklyn who used to dine there quite frequent, the quality of food has deteriorated so much that her family also dun want makan there already. I feel it was quite alright though but my judgement might be clouded by hunger. Okay, now for the damage of the day for 8 persons and also the cause behind the abovementioned nightmare.

and the final damage. now, if you can see the area highlighted in red, that's the mistake that we made in letting jacklyn order out tea, its so special that it costs RM3 per person. RM3 outside can buy one pot of tea already in case you dunno. And if you see the second item, that's the price of the plate char siew, can eat 8 packets of char siew rice outside. btw, the special tea ordered was Char Wong (King of Teas).
