Smash-a-pOp.

This is the third post that I have in regards to pOp's birthday. You should be really proud man, even my own birthday didn't get that many posts here. This time, it was a celebration with most of the peeps from Fooxion as well as of his colleagues at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng in Ampang, which was amazingly quiet/deserted. Anyway, scroll down to see pictures and judge for yourself how happy we were because I'm sleepy. Good Night.

Smash-a-pOp with the fake cake, some commented that it was quite delicious yum, but after the action, I didn't dare to.

Empat-Sekawan (L-R): KucingHitamJen, RamesUnMarried, Cherrie and Smash-a-pOp.

This is SPAAAARRRTAAAAAAA!!!.

Spot the cherrie.

Cut the cake ceremony. Cherrie removing her miniatures before they get hurt.

(L-R) Guys: Yao, CK, Smash-a-pOp, Eugene. Girls: Cherrie, Jacklyn, Eri

Let's minum dulu. Cherrie, you like that, I no need drink liao loh? :P

(L-R) Eugene, Junn (hidden), Rames, Eunice, Eri, Ryan, BabyJen and KucingHitamJen in front.

To end things with a bang, here's a bad quality video recording to show you the reason behind me putting his name as Smash-a-pOp. Please be advised that no pOp(s) are harmed during the production of this video and viewers are also advised not to replicate nor imitate anything seen in the video as the production of this video was done unper professional supervision.

Unpretty.

WARNING

Before I advance into the post, I would hereby like to advise you, the person who is reading this entry and not that unclear, half-transparent figure behind you, that the images you are about to see might cause you some minor (or major) discomfort and uneasiness. Not that it would be overly revolting anyway, but just in case that there are few among you who can't stomach it. If you insist on looking at them, please do so at your own risk and don't come looking for me should you lose your appetite for lunch and dinner, as I will totally ignore your presence. Please do not try to peek or glance at images below before you have completed reading this paragraph, otherwise, all the effort that I have placed in coming up with these warnings would be totally meaningless. But then again, judging from the height of this blog, I bet you would already have seen the images, unless I increase the size of the font (which I think I would), even before reading these texts since the images should be more appealing. However, I would still want to put this up, as much as possible in order to minimalize the damage and also to prevent lawsuit coming my way, though I doubt there'll be any. Hence, last but not least, viewer's discretion is strongly advised, proceed at own risk.

Well, you already know that I suffered sun-burn during my trip to Perhentian, and I've consulted the doctor, as well as taken/applied medication for my condition, which is now getting better, thanks for your concern, if there's any. :P I've talked a lot about it, but never really posted up any images, and I bet some of you might be curious, right? Well, today's your lucky day, as I have something for your eyes to feast upon. And you better be damn sure that you've read the warning above, TWICE!

Shoulder, view from front. If you pay enough attention, you will notice that my face is affected as well.

View from back, closer to the right shoulder.

Oh, my hair doesn't spot straight ends.

A pile of dead skins. Must... resist... .. cannot ... peel.... uargh!

The largest single layer that I could manage so far. Somehow reminds me of those stuff they put on takoyaki balls, those thin shredded stuff

Actually, the pictures are not that bad right? Serves as a good reminder to apply more sunblock before heading out to the sea. Better still, wear a shirt, or whatever that can protect your skin and at the same time does not limit your movement. This community service message is brought to you by jed and only jed; no jed has been harmed during the production of this post.

The Tag Post

Post-trip update :: My skin is beginning to shed, I look like some kinda skin-disfigured monster lurking at the corner of my office. To my horror, the girlfriend mentioned that she enjoys peeling off my dead skin. O_o"

Something else :: I'll be heading off to Singapore again this weekend, for at least 3 weeks. So, the girlfriend will be free for appointments. Please ask her out often okeh?

For this post, I'll attempt to finish off all the pending taggings that have been bestowed upon me by various people, just for the sake of layaning you all. Hahaha. To infinity and beyond!!!

5 REASONS WHY I BLOG by Sammie and Sylvia

+ I enjoy taking photographs and would like others to enjoy them as well, be it friends or complete strangers; hence, the blog serves as a platform to showcase them. Good things are meant to be shared aye?

+ Its definitely a great way to meeting other people from all walks of life, and since I began blogging, I've met a lot of incredible peeps, some even became close friends

+ I enjoy reading (blogs are dynamic, unique and frequent), and sometimes writing (heck, it helped improve my skills in this area).

+ An archive of my life, thought not everything. Its fun to walk down memory lane, going through your own past as time goes by, and as I get older, I can request my children and grandchildren to read my blog instead of telling them grandfather stories, lol!

+ Last but not least, I don't think any reasons is actually needed for blogging

OF OTHER BLOGGERS by Sylvia chachanteng

First blogger met?
Not taking SmashpOp into account (meet him like all the time), I think its m!ss s!mple...

Most wanted to meet?
Otto, if only I could.

Can meet, want to meet, but never got to meet?
Leech, faster come out and meet me can? Then you do the aqua-plane thing again.

Group most wanted to meet?
Group? Probably those peeps @ Xes, well, that's the only group I could think of, if that's what the question means.

Wanted to meet right now?
KY, so he can help decide what to eat for lunch later

So no, who's gonna fulfill my wishes?

6 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT JED by m!ss s!mple

I have a feeling I've done this before, and I really did, tagged by the same person summore!!! hErE Anyway, must layan also ...

+ I love driving for long distance trips, enjoying the scenery, stopping here and there for food. Best! But I dislike doing so with the girlfriend, she always, never fail to fall asleep

+ I still play Maple Story once in a while, currently a Level 40 Hunter, on Aquilla Server

+ When I was much, much younger, I grew up in an environment surrounded by girls. An elder sister, 2 female cousins (used to live together), and daughters of my neighbours. Maybe that's why my dad sent me to a male-only school

+ I do not consume fish's skin unless it can't be removed, be it steamed or fried. According to my mom, its supposed to help prevent cancer

+ I love doing surveys, don't ask me why. It's just... fun

+ I'm the type of person who doesn't mind/isn't afraid of being alone, be it dining or travelling, anything. Maybe its due to the fact that I prefer moving at my own pace

Got miss me or not?

Hello all, I'm back, since Monday actually, 0515 in the morning.

The trip to Perhentian, Redang and Lang Tengah was superb, albeit the sun burn. I'm still waiting for picture from the girlfriend's camera before compiling everything and start the entries for the that trip. So, be patient, my fellow friends.

But first, more on the sun burn; the pain was so unbearable that I had to consult the doctor for medication, couldn't sleep, couldn't wear my clothes properly. Even the slightest brush would cause tremendous amount of pain. The doctor mentioned that the layer of skin was so badly burnt that its similar to a first-second degree burn, with blisters. Scary. But things are getting a lot better at this very moment, thanks to the miracle of science.

Just so you know, I'm not the only victim of the mighty sun ray, everyone on that trip is suffering from the similar fate; so, please kesian them also lah.

I found out that I kena tagged quite a lot when I was not around, which made me realize that I have a lot of pending tags yet to be done. Will try to sort them out as soon as possible.

Ok, I shall now return to conquering the world... please excuse me. TO ARMS!!!

Nightmare.

Had a nightmare which kept me awake till morning. Sure, I do experience nightmares occasionally, but this one was so surreal and detailed, that it still stayed fresh in my mind up to this moment. It all began with me paying for my plate of mixed rice in a coffeeshop, and then proceeded to look for an empty seat. Much, much searching later (the coffeeshop was surprisingly huge), I finally spotted one and hurried over. The other 3 individuals person sharing that table were already halfway through their meal but none of them replied when I enquired if I could have a seat there. They didn't even bother to look at me, still facing down, focusing only on their food.

But the moment I sat down, the 3 individuals looked straight at me and immediately turned pale, much fear can be reflected from the expression from their face. Still they said nothing. Just staring. Then I noticed that the guy sitting opposite me repeatedly moved the pupil of his eyes from center to the left, as though signalling me to turn to that direction, which I did. Nothing weird, just another couple of individuals having a meal in sight, chatting away merrily.

But still, he kept repeating, and suddenly, I felt that he's trying to tell me to move away from that seat. Yet, plain silence when I tried to confirm the meaning of his actions. Frustrated for not being able to dine in peace, I inched away from that table, grumbling and cursing along the way. All of a sudden, an old lady next to me gave her seat to me, which I declined, noticing that she had yet to finish her meal. She insisted and out of nowhere, pulled a chair close by, sat down and continued eating. I thanked her and made myself comfortable.

As I was about to have a spoonful of rice, the old lady took out a wooden pencil and positioned it on the table, the tip facing the direction of the previous table and mumbled that I should't have sat there. Confused, I set my sight on that table and saw a white figure, kind of transparent. with long jet black hair, sitting where I was just now, something not in sight initially. Totally stunned, I could feel cold sweats trickling down on my cheeks; I felt petrified and paralyzed.

Really scared, I looked away immediately, focusing only on my food but occasionally stealing glances of the figure. I realize that other than me, the 3 individuals on that table and the old lady, no one else knew of the it's existence. Then, the figure began inching towards me slowly, the sound of chains being dragged echoed in the background, clear and sharp albeit all the commotions in the coffeeshop. At the same time, the old lady together with the 3 individuals hurriedly left. I still remember praying hard, ignoring the fact that the figure is getting closer by the minute. I wanted to scream for help, but my throat was so dry that I couldn't even make any sound, also unable to move, felt like my energy being sucked away. I could hear my own heartbeat, so fast that its beyond normal.

Then, it stood next to me, for sometime, before slowly placing its head in between me and my food as I was still looking downwards. It got closer and closer and finally, began to turn its head around, to face me, as its hair begin falling back bit by bit... I shut my eyes tightly but something was trying to pry them wide open. I'm afraid, really afraid...

And that's when I was jolted up, then unable to continue sleeping as I was scared to close my eyes. Even now as I'm recalling the nightmare, my heart skipped a few beats. Talk about nightmares, shiet...

On a totally unrelated note, there'll be no updates for the few days to come as I'll be off to Redang, Perhentian and Lang Tengah (I think) for holidays, make it a very much deserved one. My previous vacation was to KK, Sabah, August 2006. Hence ends the countdown, where some thought I was counting down to the day where I shall propose the girlfriend. Blek!

Countdown: Heading off tonight for an exciting tomorrow...

Eppy Bday SmashpOp

Happy Birthday Hiro Jason, you should be really proud of yourself because you're officially one year older than I currently am, though not technically correct. Hopefully, you'll get a girlfriend this year (No! You cannot have the girlfriend!) so that I can finally see for myself what type of girls you're into but there's no need to hurry because unlike Rames (27+), you're still young. May you be blessed with good health and everlasting happiness, more 'bei lou' also so that you can treat me more McFlurries, hehehe. Here's a little something for you, remember all the times you requested me to place big-big face of yourself on my blog? Your wish comes true today.

Iz you. With a distorted Kelz on the phone.

Iz you again. Bak Kut Teh session, somewhere in Pandan Jaya.

Iz also you. The biggest I can find, taken outside ViVo Pizza @ The Curve.

Jason is one of the handful of old friends that I still manage to keep in touch with until today. His love for photography dated back to the secondary school days, where he secretly took my 35mm film camera for a photoshoot in the school toilet. I still have those pictures, except for the one with stuff in the toilet bowl. Hasn't change much, I must say, still the same old playful and mischievous guy I know, who cares for his friends, though he may not show it. Miss all those times we spent under the burning sun and pouring rain marching dengan penuh semangat or not? blek!

Anyway, Happy Birthday Ah Pop! I just found out that even though its been so long, we never really did take a picture together leh, just the 2 of us. Hahaha! A toast to a lasting friendship...

Thoughts.

+ The girlfriend straightened her hair, with fringe on the front. I don't like fringe.

+ Failed to install NeverWinter Nights 2, tried for a total of 6 times. The reason I tried so many times is because each of the installation gives a different error message.

+ Went shopping for swimming trunks yesterday night, which made me realize I was really fat, enough to make me laugh at myself. I ended up getting something else.

+ The COO and CFO of the company dropped by today, way earlier than the initial appoinment, leaving us totally unprepared (my workstation was a total mess). Crap!

+ If I ever have the license to kill, my first priority would be to wipe out rude, inconsiderate, idiotic drivers from the roads of KL.

+ I got spoofed/punked/whatever by SmashpOp. Please don't stop sing K with me, can?

+ 25 GB cleared, used up 9 GB for installation of Medieval 2: Total War and another 8 GB for its image file. Siao!

+ I accidentally defamed some friend I just got to know yesterday and yes, I still maple occasionally.

+ I so want a dSLR like, right now! please, please, please, please, please...

+ Kimi won the Australian F1 race in a Ferarri, his driving gear looks like some superhero's ccostume I have to say, but it might just be me.

+ Monday and Tuesday = jam jam jam, work work work, jam jam jam, work work work, jam work jam, work jam work, work jam jam, jam jam work... ROAR!!!!!

+ I have yet to pack, shiet!

I miss.

I miss my campus-life a lot. It's random, I know.

I miss all those times in Malacca, when Monday nights were spent roaming the pasar malam (night market) gluttoning. My dinner would consist of a bowl of laksa, fried kueh teow, burger, sugarcane water, sometimes with fried ayam rangka (da best), nasi lemak, and occasionally, some fried popiah with chicken. Hence, my current size.

Who da man, huh? Tell me, who da man?

I miss all those attempts trying to capture the attention of female students living opposite our blog, by unnecessarily making loud noises or singing love songs at the top of our lungs. I miss those late night tennis lessons, spending more time running away from insects rather than practise hitting the ball. I miss spending time in the library chit chatting and observing chicks with coursemates rather than studying even though exam was just around the corner.

I miss my coursemates in Malacca.

Struggling with assignments after assignments after assignments, ggrrr...

I miss my campus life in Cyberjaya as well, and all those weekends spent travelling back to KL to meet the girlfriend and the family. I miss spending hours after hours slaving in the kitchen, preparing dinner because in the earlier days, there was nothing to eat around where I was living. I miss spending time at the balcony at night, chit chatting with my housemates about everything. I miss having sessions over sessions of DoTA with the housemates, even to the extend of creating a clan of our own. I miss those late night supper of chicken chop and ham&cheese toast at Aunty's stall, even though dinner was just 4 hours ago.

For Japanse Cultural Week, those were the performers

I miss burning the midnight oil for exams and heading out for breakfast wee hours in the morning. I miss those late nights walk to campus for club activities, feeling the soft, cooling breeze on my face. I miss the occasional afternoon Bak Kut Teh sessions in Serdang, where food is cheap and good. I miss travelling from campuses to campuses giving talks for a certain student ambassador programme that I enrolled in, and definitely missing the other ambassadors as well.

SE coursemates, Cyberjaya campus

I miss my Cyberjaya housemates (some who I have lived with for the past 4 years) and coursemates.

For those who are still studying, take my word for it, cherish your campus life... Of course those mentioned above are not the only stuff that I missed, but to list down everything, it would take days...

Here are some funny ads to keep you occupied, found them while surfing around. I remember putting another one, something to do with an alcoholic product from Thai as well but can't seem to be able to find it. If you've seen it before, you'll know its worth watching another round right? And remember to watch them in sequence.

I've just cleared 25 Gigabytes worth of animes, movies, MTVs, MP3s, Games, Images, etc. etc from my hard disks... *Activate download mode, initiate data transfer sequence...*

Edited:
The Malaysian badminton pair of Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong made it to the finals of the US$200,000 Swiss Open, beating Indonesian-American pair of Candra Wijaya-Tony Gunawan 23-21, 13-21, 21-7 in 38 minutes. I do have to say that the game was riddled with mistakes, after mistakes by both pairs.

Just found out that Nicol David won the CIMB KL Open as well. Congrats to all.

An Inconvenient Truth @ KLPAC.

The moment I stepped into KLPAC, the jakun in me emerged as I walked around, looking everywhere, wanting to touch everything. I really should come here more often as everything is just so, so, so, erm, pretty? You can't help but to feel an aura of sophistication with a hint of tradition emitted when looking at its design and architecture. I especially liked the bed of rocks in a layer of water beside the entrance. Must have something like that in my house next time, if I can ever afford my own crib, that is. And the screening hall, so colourful that it brought out the child in me, weeeeeee!

Ticket to the ultimate truth @ Pentas 1.

I have to admit, after staring blankly at the screen for hours, that I absolutely, have no idea at all in writing movie reviews. I should seek professional help but that would have to come later...

An Inconvenient Truth basically is a documentary film that tells of how global warming is affecting the Earth and its population now, as well as the future, supposingly there's any, and its causes. The thing that make AIT stands out is the ability (of the director) to shape a topic so mundane and ordinary, I dare say, into something so visually dramatic, that it effortlessly install a sense of shock and awe in its audience. Through-out the movie, numerous times, it felt as though someone swung a sledgehammer onto your head, knocking some sense of realization into it.

Very corourful seats. Somehow reminded me of musical chairs.

I would take the melting of icebergs in the North and South pole for example; most of us know that it would lead to a rise in sea level, affecting lower-laying areas. Period. Wham! Sledgehammer made contact. What we fail to learn the severity of its impact, worldwide. And that it is already happening, slowly, but gradually.

Uncle Eddy Han, Aunty June Yap and the girlfriend.

The film is supported purely with nothing but hard facts, scientific findings and graphical evidences presented by Al Gore, through one of his many global warming talks around the globe. The message its trying to deliver, each and everyone of us should start playing our part to prevent what is already happening from becoming worse. On a different note, in my personal opinion, the only flaw in the movie should be all the clips depicting the life of Al Gore that comes in every now and then, kinda disrupted the flow. And also the fact that I can't help but to feel bits of political schemes here and there, though minimal. Maybe its just me. Anyway, it received a round of deserving applause from the audience in the end, so to let you know.

The girlfriend and I, just to show that I was really there, haha.

All in all, though not action packed, nor ladened with special effects, nor mind-boggling scripts, nor anything along the line of highly entertaining, I would still recommend you to watch it!

KLPAC.

Five full moons ago, as he stood by the edge of the cliffs, overlooking the vast waters beneath him, a sense of pride overwhelmed him greatly, for he had journeyed far and wide, through unforseen obstacles, in search of the sign, envisioned by the Oracle, that would lead him here. He turned around, gazing into the eyes of 10,000 of his best elites, and said,"Give them nothing! But take from them everything!". His enemies beware, as Spartan Jed has finally set foot upon KLPAC.

Sorry, just watched 300 yesterday night. Had yet to get over it. Maybe, I'll never get over it... Argh! Must watch again... must watch again... must ...

Green, green grass by the river (ching ching he bien chao). Anyway still remember this Taiwanese series?

Anyway, as mentioned above, I was KLPAC last Sunday, tagging along with Uncle Eddy and Aunty June as they managed to get hold of a few free tickets for An Inconvenient Truth. Thank you for having us again! Since the girlfriend and I were there early, we walked around for a bit, enjoying every bit of the greenery and fresh air that we seldom get to experience in our vastly expanding concrete jungle. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful, overlooking Sentul Park, vast different compared to what we saw on the way driving in. Spent most of our time by the lake before the show.

1, 2, 3, smile. I also want but tak jadi. Sadness...

Poser. The kawaii face hand above eyes, looking for prince charming from faraway land pose.

Under the bright, radiant ray of the sun, armed with a camera in hand, what else do you think we would do. I headed to one of the extended platforms beside the lake of Sentul Park, and while standing on the edge, my fear of height did kick in a little bit in the early stages. I wonder why since it was fairly shallow, I think. I noticed that they had these cute furniture made entirely of erm, wires perhaps, laying all around. On the side note, I don't think my condition can be labeled as achrophobia, since it loosely means an extreme or irrational fear of heights. I don't run around aimlessly, screaming hysterically.

Hope, 2, 3, 4. Move out or be roasted!

Reflections. As I stared on one who is me, but is not me.

MayDay! MayDay! Abandon land, I repeat, abandon land!!!

The girlfriend was so busy talking on the phone that her heels got stuck in between the wooden plates of the platform. Hahaha! No worries, as the damage was minimal. Oh, there were geese swimming and moving around as well. Although stunningly beatiful as their snow white feathers reflected the sunlight radiantly, they sure were annoyingly noisy, just like the girlfriend vendors in a market. She later suggested taking shots of her sitting by the edge of the platform from afar. I have this feeling that I saw it somewhere before. Unfortunately, time was not on our side and we had to move on; A few quick clicks later, we headed in to meet up with the married couple.

The (lesser) snow geese.

I'm beautiful, I'm beautiful, I'm beautiful... It's true.

Next, the simplest movie review achievable as well as an insight into KLPAC's interior design. Cheh Wah, like some kind of documentary or travelogue eh? Discovery Travel and Adventure, hahaha. I've always wanted to be on GlobeTrekker, damn shiok leh!.

Par-Tay.

*Takes a sip of hot milo*

By six thirty-ish, we started heading towards All Stars Cafe, the place to be. Things didn't start well because a chit-chatting couple refused to budge. Since they were there first, nothing much could be done other than using psychological warfare approach, by surrounding them and being incredibly noisy + annoying. We rule. Needless to say, there will always be those who adhered to Malaysian timing, *cough*cheryl*cough* but all is well.

On my right, I see them. Chin so happy! Look at Kelz, that's a problem I'll never experience.

On my left, I see them. Albert yawns, and the chicken burger with cheese was quite good.

Much later, its time to reveal the surprise. In order to have both of them there, according to Jen, she told Rames that its for Pop's bday and vice versa, but it might also be due to that incident, forcing her to do so. Anyway, after a bit of confusion singing the birthday song, the cards were read and the gifts unwrapped. One thing is, I'm not sure why the tradition of whamming cakes onto the birthday babies were not practised, less a lot of fun liao like that. I have a feeling I might regret saying this...

Step 1 :: Remove wrappings gently, if cannot, just tear them off.

Step 2 :: Remove presents, look at them. Remember to smile.

Step 3 :: Post with presents.

*Prepares to meet up with Adrian, his friends, the girlfriend, Jen, Junn, Eugene and Hikaru, etc. etc. *

Early to MV.

Was at MidValley last Saturday for Lames' and Pop's surprise birthday celebration, organized by our very own HarroKittyJen who learns from a yoga instructor with a cool name. Headed there early since the girlfriend needed to get something formal for an upcoming company event, part of it also due to us always being late, so this time come early-early already, can? Needless to say, the early birds were already there, Pop, HarroKittyJen and ShawnGoingNS (couldn't make it in the end), what for, I'm unsure. We were later joined by the evening birds, EriAhPeng, as well as SylviaChaChanTeng.

The EarlyBirds who did not allow me to eat in peace. HarroKittyJen, Pop, ShawnGoingNS

Had brunch @ KimGary with the EarlyBirds, since they were already there. A rule you should remember when dining with them, eat together and not later, unless you don't feel like eating in peace. While I was eating my fried rice with sliced pork and fried egg, happily sipping on my iced milk tea, they distracted me kao kao with their huge, huge dSLRs. Instantly lost my mood and appetite to eat. Sien loh like that...
