Lantern Showcase 2.

Carved marble on wall in one section of an area. Not only is it beautiful, the carving is also super clean man! I wiped my finger across it (to feel the texture) and amazingly, no dust!

Wishing tree. The tree that has the most wishes, its no surprise, was the one with the Love tag.

One of the better looking lanterns. Somehow it reminded me of the 'Leung San Pak, Juk Ying Toi' story.

In the lake, there were displays themed after '8 Sin Koh Hoi' (Eight Saints/Immortals/Whatever Crossing The Sea). They look funny.

More of them.

Floating lotus flowers. I nearly fell into the lake while trying to take a better shot. Must be karma for laughing at the Saints/Immortals/Whatever.

Fortunately, on that night, there were some mini-fireworks display scheduled at around 10pm, which lasted for about 5 minutes, or less.

Everybody loves fireworks.

I was standing so close to the launch site that should anything have gone wrong, I'll most probably be toasted. As the fireworks didn't really go up high, I nearly broke my neck.

Last but not least, huge ass mooncake with Hello Panda's friend surrounding it, say hi to Herro Polar.

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the end of my ordeal at the showcase, not to mention that I didn't get any free mooncakes, nor free lanterns and forgot to submit my entry for the lucky draw due to anticipation for the fireworks. In actual fact, I think a lot of effort was spent in setting up this showcase, in the middle of a huge garden, with some displays were even made to float on the lake but I guess its just not my cup of tea.

Oh, Cely was there as well.

Lantern Showcase.

Few weeks back (seems like I have this habit of blogging about the past), there was some Lantern Showcase ongoing @ Chinese Garden (this station was nicely decorated and themed, first time being there), in sync with the Mid-Autumn Festivals, and being the usual busybody, E and I made our way there since we're staying nearby anyway. $12 dollars per entry for an adult was slightly expensive, if compared to norm. Bearing the theme of 'Underwater World' or something close to that, I have to admit, I was quite excited to discover what lies beyond and O.M.G., I was left totally speechless!!!

Everything was beyond my expectations, my wildest imaginations, on the negative side that is, it just looks so, uhrm, in a polite manner, childish? I was thinking, something more like, sophisticated displays shaped using multiple small lanterns on massive scales, you get what I mean? Perhaps some areas bearing coloured burning candles, etc. etc. Sigh... Still, had to make the best out of it, no use crying over spilled milk.

The moment my eyes met with the display at the entrance, the first thought that crossed my mind was, so childish one wtf. Sei Loh!

8 Floors Pagoda (not the real name). Quite tiring climbing all the way up, reminded me of my Mount KK trip.

*pengsans* No Comment. At certain areas, some of the lanterns were even to emit repetitive weird growling noises which was quite annoying. But children super like them loh.

Lotus Flowers. Like this still acceptable lah.

Don't cross the bridge the dolphins will attack you wtf. Laser emitting dolphins, hear them squeak!

I think this is supposed to be the Water Palace where the Dragons live together with the Prawns and Crabs soldiers something like that (ala the Na Za story).

Got any polar bears themed Disney characters? If you were there, you'd notice that all the adult bears are female.

Just like that.

A friend just informed me that his relationship of close to six years is officially over. That totally shocked me. They got together just a little earlier than I did with the girlfriend and all this while, everything seemed so perfect for them. I can tell that it hit him pretty hard judging from the way he talked, somehow reminded me of the typical TVB dramas. I, together with the girlfriend, spent nearly the whole day consoling him over MSN, hard to imagine he would deteriorate till his current devastated state.

All I can do now is hope that he would eventually be able to get over this difficult period and move on.

Wanted to say more, but I'm currently shrouded in too much anger and disappointment due to work that it might affect my usual train of thoughts. Might be turning this post into a murderous plot that is bound to satisfy any level of desire for revenge. *shivers*

Which also kinda makes me wonder, does anyone out there actually enjoy their job? At least having some job satisfaction? I know I don't. Perhaps its time for a change.

The Damage is Done.

Headed back to Brotzeit last night, after a long absence, as E was on his Pork Knuckle mission and I kinda missed their beer. A mutual decision after narrowing our choices to either here, there or the-other-side. I didn't bring my camera along because this was quite a spontaneous meet-up, since I was in the office initially and E, lazing in his room watching 'Full House' (that Korean Drama).

And so, he ordered his Pork Knuckle, which comes with salads and mashed potatoes while I took Tafelspitz, boiled beef served with grilled potatoes and spinach, which was grinded into sauce-like substance. His was pretty standard I would say, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside but I have to admit it was quite huge in size. Mine, the boiled beef was soft and goes well with the spinach but according to E, it was pretty bland without the sauce. Now go imagine for yourself how everything looks like.

Inclusive of the beer, the bill came to:

1 Pork Knuckle :: 32.00
1 Tafelspitz :: 24.90
10% Service Charge :: 8.61
7% GST :: 6.63

Total :: 101.30

OMGGGGGG! We kinda didn't expect that it would come to that amount. And to think that we didn't want to dine in Marche because we thought it would probably cost more. Besides, I kinda drank too fast in the end, hence I travelled home with my head pounding to the rhythm of Shake Your BonBon.

Should have gone for the Japanese buffet, should have gond for the Japanese buffet, should have...

Btw, just so you know, its already October, therefore please shout OKTOBERFEST!!!
