Let's Party!! Sally Yeh in Genting Pt.2.

The second and final installment. In between short breaks of her performances, she kept her audiences entertained by communicating with them, as well as cracking some light jokes. On longer breaks, there were some games where winners would get to be onstage and have a chance to really get up-close with Sally Yeh!!! And we were not informed of it initially. OMG, I should have kept that green balloon instead of hitting it away, deng! The grand winner was a kid, should be around 4-6 years old only, one heck of a lucky kid I say. By 10.30pm, Sally Yeh left the stage and that kept us wondering whether the concert has ended for real, as most of the audiences were still chanting "Encore. Encore". Not disappointing her fans, she finally appeared and did the customary 'handshake' round, moving through floods after floods of audiences, but not my section. So sad...

Still regarding the section I'm seating in, I think I'm among the older, quiet generations because when Sally moves to all the other sections, the audiences cheered and waved their "yellow" hands energetically. But my section, totally no response can? Adoi. Towards the end of her performance, audiences were finally allowed to stand and move closer towards the stage (her actual theme for the concert was party, where everyone enjoy themselves and move to the music instead of duduk diam-diam, but what to do, tight security mah). Then, her Die-Hard-Fans were invited on stage, to show her appreciation for them I guess, and I secretly wished that I was there as well. And after the final song, she waved goodbye and retreated backstage and me, I was left wishing for more! Oh, I had a really hard time getting out of the arena because the aunties and uncles were practically pushing their way out, dem annoying can? Especially those who used their large handbags as some sort of shield, is it so hard to utter a simple Excuse Me? I would have gladly allowed them to go through first. Tsk! Tsk!

I enjoyed myself a lot, every minute and every second of the concert, really, really have to thank Auntie June for extending me this invitation, moreover, such great seats! Even with all the cheerings from the crowd and the loud backstage live music, she never did fail to leave me in awe with her strong vocals, as well as those little dance moves here and there. Overall, its one heck of an energetic and entertaining performance! *hearts Sally Yeh* Oh, last but not least, guess who was sitting just across my section, divided only by a small isle (walkway)

It was Lee Chong Wei! Wanted to ask for a picture with him, but felt it was kinda weird to do so, with all the people looking. Have to admit he's looks rather shy, and humble. Imagine if Sally Yeh (who mentioned his presence earlier on) saw that too. HaHaHas.

Let's Party!! Sally Yeh in Genting Pt.1.

And so, last Saturday, I went to Genting for Sally Yeh's Let's Party!! concert, thanks Auntie June for the *ahems*VIP*ahems* tickets and also not forgetting to thank Uncle Eddy for fetching us up there, nearly scaring the girlfriend to death on the way up (lucklily she fell asleep when heading back to KL). Upon reaching, we were greeted by half the population of KL, so many people that I think if everyone should stand side by side in a single line, it would probably reach Singapore. No kidding!

Half and hour before the concert begins. Few minutes later, it was already full house.

We headed into Arena of Stars after a meal and a drink @ Coffee Bean (where the Uncle nearly froze to death, go and drink ice-blended summore), to be greeted by lots of uncles and aunties but that was expected because initially, we even joked that we might be the youngest bunch among the spectators (which was not true). Concert began at 8.30pm, a delay of 30 minutes, which I felt was acceptable, have to cater for all the latecomers due to Malaysian "timing". When the lights went out, I was really, really, really excited, for this would be the first time ever I get to see Sally Yeh live and up close!!! The following images will be captionless, unless I want to, so just enjoy them without me annoying you.

There was a section for the Die-Hard-Fans and I kinda pity those sitting behind them, as the fans were constantly standing, moving and cheering aloud. But without the fans, the atmosphere would definitely be less lively, so can't really blame them, but still kesian those seated behind. If you can't win them, join them. :) Quite a number of songs were performed, more towards her classic hits, most of it I heard of but couldn't come out with the name, those I could were Zhu Fu, Wan Feng, Choices, No Wine Bottles (something like that lah) and some English covers like Dancing Queen, Living La Vida Loca, I Will Always Love You, etc. It was full of variety, from strong vocals to energetic dance moves, keeping us entertained throughout the concert. The only complain that I have would definitely be the tight security, can't even stand up for more than 5 seconds as surely there would be some guards requesting you to be seated (even for the Die-Hard-Fans). And I have the organizers keep reminding me not to take videos *sweat* even when I re-assured them again and again, I was only taking pictures!!! Dem potong-stim one!

Jia Xiang revisited.

It's been close to a year since my last bowl of Kolo Mee here. E suggested for a meal in one of its branches (ViVoCity) since he had yet to try them and we were pretty much indecisive of where to eat, jelak of hawker stall food already. This time, I decided not to be that stingy. First thing I noticed was, the variety kinda shrinked although there were new choices, some of the older ones were removed, or maybe just not printed in the menu.

I opted for the Kolo Mee with Char Siew + Prawns + Dumplings, and also supersized the mee because I already expected the quantity to have remained the same (and I was right). The sauce was a little too sourish to my liking, else, everything else was good, but the prawn was better. Large, fresh, juicy and spongy. What more could you ask for, other than more prawns, perhaps. The Wanton and Char Siew was also just alright, nothing fancy. The price came to about 6 SGD, not inclusive of the drinks, so its a little bit on the pricy side. Dang, I just made myself really hungry...

I have to constantly remind myself that I'm not eating maggi mee, just to feel better because... because... it just looks freaking similar. At least Nissin Noodle doesn't cost that much, :P.

Oh, the next time you're in Singapore and your hosts/friends are getting you something to drink, no matter how indecisive you are or if you're planning to let them make the choices, please be reminded not to say Anything or Whatever, because you might regret it. Have a look below and you'll know why.

Movies I've watched recently ::

Storyline revolves around Cris Jackson (Nicolas Cage) being gifted with a unique ability to experience what will happen to him 2 minutes ahead of time. Overall, the movie is quite engaging, action packed with a few surprises included here and there (due to his ability), not forgetting to mention, a number of unnecessary scenes as well, bullet dodging, wtf? Additionally, there were some confusion regarding his ability as well, especially the part where multiple instances were created when searching for Liz (Jessica Biel), is he like, supposed to do that cause it actually bends the rules?

The worst had to be the abrupt ending, after such an elaborate and beautifully laid out storyline, because there's no certain answer to what would have really happened. And when Cris said he made a mistake, what exactly is the mistake? Was it because he was only focusing on Liz and instead, should look parallelly at the detonation plot as well? Or something else? It all doesn't make sense!!

Bad ending, bad, bad ending...

Blades Of Glory :: Nothing to spoil

Wickedly funny, slapstick at its best, reminded me a lot on Talladega Nights. But be warned that this might not be everyone's cup of tea, some might be disgusted, in a way or another. Watch how a pretty boy and a macho man, against all odds, perfected the legendary Iron Lotus (I find the video really hillarious). Personally, I prefer Wild Hogs. :)

Spiderman 3 :: Left with loads of doubt

First things first, I find myself paying a-hell-lot-of attention to Kirsten Dunst's front teeths ever since learning that they're weirdly-angled. Lots of character development, on Peter and Mary Jane, how being Spiderman is actually affecting them both. Maybe to a certain extend, a little too much since there we quite a number of characters in this installment, resulting less fighting and web-swinging actions.

And then, there were little things throughout the movie, which didn't make much sense, like when finally the Butler decided the spill the truth. Or the fact that Venom only affected the spider suit, and not Peter. Or why Harry decided to sacrifice himself instead of remotely controlling the Goblin glider. Or why spidey mask must always be removed, and the costume torn, and yet no one recognizes him, with all the camera and recordings.

I can go on, and on, and on, and on...

And what's the point of bringing Gwen into the picture? Also, anyone noticed how tired and gloomy Kirsten looked during interviews for the movie, the makings, the premieres, etc. etc? Its as though she lost interest in the character, if you compare to similar activities for the first installment. Ok, I should stop here and now. Final note, black Spidey, cool!
