Conversation with Mom one late afternoon when I was just about to take a quick shower. It happened in Cantonese but for the benefit of all, I've translated them (to Manglish):
Mom: Boy, I've steamed some dumplings (bak chang). Do you want some?
Me: Nope, still quite full from lunch.
Mom: What did you had for lunch until so full woh?
Me: Uhhh...
(2 minutes later)
Me: (Still standing beside the bathroom door) Uhrmmmm...
Me: Cannot remember lah.
Mom: Sei loh, what happened to you? Lunch eat what also cannot remember? That's barely 2 hours ago.
Me: I know, I know. But I just can't recall.
Mom: So young already so forgetful, even worse than me. Got so much white hair summore, like old man already. *loud sigh*
When your mom says you're getting old, you're definitely getting old. 5 minutes into bath, while washing my hair, finally recalled that I had Nasi Lemak @ OldTown for lunch - must be from all the head scratching and massaging.
