Sorry - In really busy mode - please do not disturb.
About Disgaea DS - you assume the role of a Demon Prince, Laharl - who has been in slumber for the past 2 years - only to learn of his father's death upon awaking. He then sets out to quell the many demons vying for the position of the Overlord - something like the boss position in the demonic realm of the Netherworld - which is righfully his. Sounds like serious stuff eh?
In actual fact, its not - the gameplay is ladened with comedy - if you are able to appreciate them that is, wacky facial expressions, humourous dialogues, addictive gameplay and not forgetting the truckload of different side quests that would glue you to the DS for many, many, many hours.
The sidequests - you can summon the Dark Assembly to create or delete characters, call for a forum to vote for new proposals and take promotion tests to increase your ranking. Then you can enter the Item World - which is basically your items, to defeat 10 level of Dungeons - a must! - to increase its stats. The thing is, you can re-enter the dungeons as many times as you want - hence, you can end up with a super-super weapon but beware, the higher the level of the item, the more powerful the enemies are.
Not forgetting the bonus gauge = free items - the fastest way to fill the gauge is to play around with Geo Symbols - a pyramid like item which provides additional stats - can be either positive or negative - on the same coloured tiles it is located on. I hate enemy boost - cilakaks.
Hence, if you own an NDS and enjoys strategy RPG - you should really give this game a go.
