iApologize.

Dearest friends,

I am truly sorry to each and everyone of you out there who came to this blog with anticipation for something new but time and again have to leave with utter disappoinment, especially to those that couldn't accept the immediate truth by running multiple F5 button or Refresh clicks. My apologies.

As you might have already guessed, the only thing that could probably keep me this occupied would definitely be my job (sometimes the girlfriend as well). I am pre-occpied, occupied and post-occupied with my work now, resulting a life entirely revolving around it. All work and no play makes Jed a dull guy, hence the dullness you are currently experiencing in my blog. So boring.

To the extend that other than running at full power at the client's site, I spend my lunch and dinner time thinking about solutions, not forgetting during MRT rides as well and even while preparing to sleep. Even my Nintendo DS stays neglected in the drawer of my table (Oh, I am gonna advance to 3rd job pretty soon on FF3, hurrah!). So boring.

Anyway, before the client catch me blogging, which is like abusing their facilities, which I doubt so, I better sign off. Hope to resume blogging as usual tomorrow. Wish me luck. So boring.

Yours truly,
Jed

Teo Chew Fish Project.

Remember the Teo Chew Fish Project there? The outcome was pretty impressive (on the second run in my house) as the the flavouring was just right and the texture still soft, the way it should be and of course, the whole process was guided by Mum who refused to have her kitchen 'conquered' by someone else. Anyway, other than Mum (she insisted it was something else she took earlier), none of us suffered from any sort of digestion based illnesses after consuming the fish *thank God* which I highly doubted would have happened anyway. Here are some pictures I managed to snap with only a single bar of battery left in camera.

Seconds before cooking. There's the fish with Tofu, Slice Tomatoes and Salted Vegetables on your right. On the left is some Spring Onions and Coriander Leaves.

Ta Dah! I present to you, Ngoi Sam Teo Chew Fish. Look also know its nice already woot!

Just to check whether the fish is thoroughly cooked or not. Just kidding. Take picture of the texture of the fish mah.

Much love and thanks to her for spending time in the kitchen (which she hardly ever does) to prepare the fish for me. I see a future housewife in the making, hahaha. Yap Tak Chui Fong, Chut Tak Theng Tong (Can enter the kitchen, and also come out to the Living Hall - an old Chinese saying which literally means a person, usually referring to the wife, who can cook as well as present herself well outside of the kitchen boundaries. Something like that).

DS: FF3.

I personally feel that my blog is getting more and more boring by the day. Bah! Pushing that aisde, interested to know what game I am currently engrossed to on my DS? Well, wonder no more...

Final Fantasy III (Role Playing Game :: RPG)

I'ts actually a remake of the original version. Quite easy to adapt to the controls, however, a little more patience is required to fully understand the gameplay. So far, I think I am only less than 3% into the game and ironically, I have yet to find a save point then died liao, in the Mithril Mines, still in the first map (I think), so have to start all over again (only just now I found out that I can save when in the map interface, dang). Interface and gameplay (turn-based) is pretty much the same with the other FF series, with the exception for the graphics. Not that I'm complaining anyway. One thing that's really tiring about this game is not being able to pass through the victory screen quickly (needs to wait for the music to end, gets irritating after a while), anyone knows how to do that? While the other, it doesn't really utilize DS's dual screen/touch screen feature. kinda wasted in a way. Last but not least, trust me when I say its quite engaging.

A Weekend Well Spent.

You know how, when you're away and you get the chance to head home, you would always try to fully pack each and every second of your time with some activities to optimize your return, to the brink, literally? Exactly what I did. Here's a detailed breakthrough of what I went through when I was back in KL last weekend, kinda boring but its just to amaze myself should I decide to read my archives sometime later. Yeah. *admires self*

Arrived in KL @ 3am O_o, bus delayed and only managed to sleep around 4am then waking up by 7.30am, the biological alarm was ringing. Minor chores here and there later (makan1 - a piece of garlic bread), it was already late morning, 11.45am. Had lunch then (makan2 - a lot, mee + bread) at OldTown, which is slowly becoming my standard place for afternoon makans *sweat*. Perhaps I should request for a revise in their menu, hhhmmm... Drove to Sg.Wang for this at about 2pm, after sending off her lady cleaner, caught in massive traffic congestion which made me appreciate the MRT very much all of a sudden. I tell you, since the opening of the new lane to SMART tunnel, KL begin experiencing one of its worst congestion nigtmares . Back to home at 5pm, because she needed to prepare her dish and managed to have dinner (makan3) by 7pm. Visited her parents, forced fed durians (makan4 - 1 biji, as in the whole thing) and by 9pm, since we couldn't set a yum cha session, we decided to go ahead with the midnight show, Order of Phoenix. Ended around 2.45am, with her constantly complaining my bad breath whenever I burped, downloaded games and slept at 5.15am. That kinda ends Saturday.

Awaken at 8.15am the following day for Bak Kut Teh breakfast (makan5 - meat shoved) with Eddy&June in Klang (zomg) then got home around 11am just to rest for an hour before having lunch (makan6) with my family. The food was so awesome (and expensive) that it deserves a post on its own, coming up later. By 2pm, I was frantically packing and preparing for the journey back to SG, 4.30pm bus when Mum still managed to force into me a bowl of dessert (makan7 - shuet yee tong sui) before sending me off. Reaching SG at 10.45pm, about an hour and half late due to (makan8 - light meal) massive volume of human at the customs and finally home by 11.35pm, had to do the laundry before calling it a day, else I would be with nearly 0 pair of formal wears. Finally able to sleep by 2.45am, after hanging the clothes to dry only to wake up at 7am the next day for work.

The conclusion is, for the weekend, I had 8 meals, of which 5 is heavy and slept only for 12 hours in 90 hours. Ta Dah! I am ze bionicman!

HP: Order of the Phoenix.

Was marvellous, if not, awesome, which got me wondering, why all the not-so-positive comments coming like, from everyone. An exception would definitely be the kissing scene, it felt so out of place... so, suddenly, so dreadful. Bah! Character developement is extremely engaging, each one built up a little by little, revealing bits of past and personality here and there, resulting a particular someone (who's writing this) refusing to answer nature's call until the credits started rolling. Order of the Phoenix is quite different from the previous instalments which focuses way too much on Harry, Hermoine and Ron; this being quite a refreshing approach. To sum, its so good that its like having peppermint chocolate chip with rums and raisins after chocolate sundae and Oreo McFlurry.

Moving on to some of the characters, Daniel Radcliffe has become too, how should I put it... matured? I can't help but feeling that Harry Potter is beginning losing his magical charm, but maybe that's just me, or his hair. Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint (Ron), not so outstanding. Oh, one thing I have to admit, I'm very much attracted (not physically) to Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) even though I don't really know why, there's just something about her. I never read any of the books (OMGosh? Don't be) so I can't comment on the extend of similarity, though I've heard lots on it. Perhaps after watching it for a couple more times, I might find the reason behind this. And don't you just feel like slapping Professor Umbridge (Imelda Staunton), a couple of times, at least? In a way, its a compliment for her ability to portray what she's supposed to be doing.

The storyline was really smooth as well, with scenes complimenting each other like beautifully arranged pieces of puzzles coming together towards the end. Abundance of massive special effects, from the Weasley Twins' havoc during the exams to the destruction of the prophecy glasses (so enchanting) as well as the battle scenes (which would be superb should there be more of it) in Department of Mysteries. Not forgetting, Dumbledore's "He's Got Style" escape, fuh! I guess that's all I have to say about the movie, its definitely worth staying up late for the midnight show (all other shows sold out).

I. Did. It.

Up to this very moment, I still can't really come to terms and find it hard to believe that I actually did it. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you...

Gone are the lonely days and the lonely nights but comes the days of hunger and sleepless nights.

20.07.2007.

Yahooos. I'll be heading back to KL later. Faster ask me yum cha can? Because I'll be heading back on Sunday evening already. Hhhmmm... so little time, so much to do.

I have to admit, I really kena poison deep deep by ah pop, ah jen and cherrie (sorry, malas mau taruh link) already because they nearly everyday also talk about their DS Lite. How can like that? *initiates a protective barrier around self to repel further damage* Fuh...

Till I see you in KL again, cheers.

Reminder.

One. Remind self to get an umbrella, having half of your shirt in dark blue and another half in light blue is not the lastest fashion trend. Being half frozen in office doesn't make you look anymore cooler than you already are.

Two. Remind self to stop munching on Pringles like there's no tomorrow. The one and a half container last night is insane, not forgetting you've already taken dinner. Quit it before the kids decided to call you Fat Uncle.

Three. Remind self to inform the Landlord/Landlady that you are heading back to KL for the weekend. You do not wish to have your picture pasted in MRT stations everywhere on the Missing People section.

Last. Remind self again that the current time displayed on the PC is much slower than the actual time. Please post and sign off now, else you would have to walk to the station, again.

Kuishin-Bo, revisited.

To the restaurant offering japanese buffet again, just because E wanted to have crabs. I never really enjoyed eating there as I always find it expensive (close to $40, on-going 10% discount promotion atm) for the limited variety offered, in exception that they have free flow of japanese snow crabs there. Cold and soggy crab meat is just not my cup of tea. Noticed that the restaurant had undergone a renovation, the food sections rearranged as well, which is a good thing because its less congested now (fast moving goods to the front, slower at the back). Now, let's see what they have to offer...

The layout and design of the restaurant. Its only 6pm but already that packed.

We were seated at the bar-like-style seats because most of the other tables were already reserved.

Prawn tempura and some other fried stuff made of vegetables (more like leftovers, lols).

Beef Kaminabe.

Sushi and weird-coloured seaweed. Not mine.

Crabs and Prawns.

The unimproved Teppanyaki, with limited selection. *Stares in disgust*

Sushi and Veggy. Veggy and sushi.

Desserts. Ze dorayaki on ze right.

More desserts. This one's mine, notice that I arranged everything so nicely? *beams with pride* Faster say its nice! Faster!

Some ice-shaved with a little creamy thingy, lime flavour. Very, uhrm, tantalizing?

This is the nicely wrapped thingy you see in the picture above. Its basically an ice cream made to look like a strawberry. Outer layer of ice, inner layer of cream.

That's all, no more. Please wipe your drool now before it electrocutes you to death via the keyboard. And this is not the cover my ass post as mentioned yesterday.

Hey. Hey. You. You.

Routined Life = Nothing to Update

That pretty much sums up what I have to say for today and many days to come. Bah! I have yet to discover who exchanged my chair, leaving me with one that's a little too small for comfort thus, causing me to fidget all day long. And there you go, the most interesting occurance this very day. Did you feel the excitement tingling down your spine?

On a different note, have you tried the Portobello Mushroom burger, doubled with bacon, upsized combo of fries and refillable soft drinks at Carl's Jr? If you haven't, I adviced you not to as it would take the appetite of 2 cows, 5 goats and maybe 7 sheeps to finish every single thing. Serious. Take it from the person who nearly barfed and suffocated because he was too distracted by the cute girl behind the counter to understand what she's saying.

Oh, oh! I finished Kane and Abel as well as The Prodigal Daughter already. Currently onto Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less. Anyway, I came up with something in the end, but I guess there's a lot of ammendments to be done in order to cover my ass from being toasted. Till then, love me more.

For the first time.

You know what? For the very first time, I experienced a Singaporean's true and most local method of *drum rolls* hanging out your clothes to dry!!! Eh, don't wtf me first can? My previous accomodations (company guesthouses) are designed with compounds beside the windows for this purpose. Nothing special mah. But now, I'm using bamboo poles (YES! You read that right, bamboo poles!) to hang my clothes dry, dem old school man! I had to be given a tutorial by the landlady on the different methods of hanging, depending on the texture of the cloth for the most effective result. Quite meng-embarassing-kan, being 24 and still have someone to guide you in accomplishing such a simple task.

Definitely not an easy task you know because you need to balance the pole while clipping your clothes on it, or slide the pole through them. Then, need to always make sure that your clothes are well-secured on the pole with clippers, else, you can bade them farewell. The most difficult part is next, having to balance the pole while extending it out of the window and inserting into a socket on the wall. Me, clumsy as always, nearly dropped one with all my formal wears on it, luckily regained control at the end. Fuh! I think that the landlady helped me readjust some of my clothes in the end, cause I realized that the arrangement was different when collecting them later. *Paiseh*

Because I did my washings late, I only managed to head out in the evening. Met up with KYtheInjuredMonkey at Lavender to get my bus ticket from Golden Mile Complex (coming back for the weekend this Friday night, hurrah!) before heading to Plaza Singapura as he wanted to eat at Carl's Jr, AGAIN! Gila. Then, headed to Carrefour to get some supplies, I'm quite sure you're not interested but I'm gonna indulge you in the details anyway. I bought an iron, an extension cord, a soap box (finally, freaking hard to find one), a loaf of baguette and the best of all, a box of 6-in-1 Pringles on a buy 1 free 1 promotion, so its 12 alltogether for only 9.50 dollars (woot!). I can probably shower in Pringles lol!

The only bad experience is having to lug everything back home, my arms almost, almost came off, hence gaining strength +2 but losing intelligence -1.

Friday, July 13, 2007

I'm out. Then in.

Everyone, please congratulate me, as I have finally shifted out from the dreaded guesthouse, I did it immediately after securing all the terms and conditions with the landlord (managed to reduce the rent a little). Hello to fresh air, hello to peace and quiet once again, hello to cleanliness. Lugging all my stuff to the new place was extremely exhausting, not to mention it drew the attention of a few passengers *sweat* since there were terrorism alerts played at the stations (who seen it before?). When I finally reach, all I could think of was getting a quick shower and then a good night sleep.

I'm currently living in CCK Street 52, close to Yew Tee MRT with the Ng family, Malaysians with PR status in Singapore. Talking with them in Cantonese makes me feel closer to home, and they're really approachable and friendly. Not forgetting, their sons, quite young of age, are pleasant and well-behaved as well. But... but.. but... one thing that made me really upset was, the youngest son called me Uncle yesterday night O_o I'm just 24 OMGs and not even married yet!!! Bah! The room came with a study table and chair, a wadrobe, matress with pillow and blanket, a stand fan (very seldom do I see ceiling fans in Singapore HDBs, very seldom) and best of all, a TV! Happy tenant, I am. Oh, its nearby to some small-scale shopping complexes, as well as a community center.

Me room. There you see the stand fan, table & chair and the TV! Window's facing the other blocks, quite windy at times.

The door and a lot of empty spaces. I think this room is even larger than mine back home. A little more towards where I'm standing would be the mattress.

The wadrobe/cupboard and my luggage bag. I just realized that the pictures kinda made my room look as though it has 3 different shades of paint. Just 2 I think, the other one is due to the lighting.

I am Angry.

All the sudden, I felt really pissed off, triggered by an unknown cause. Or maybe, its due all the little, little things that I decided to push aside ignorantly previously (because I am kind and forgiving) and now, the accumulation has come to a point beyond futher comprehension. Bear with me, as I shall be releasing the mounting pressure concealed within myself to prevent a full-fledge armageddon.

# Yang sebilik dengan aku punya Mamut. Can you please, for heaven's sake, stop burping out loud everywhere you are? Its so disgusting and annoying that I feel like slapping your face, hard, each and everytime you do that. How'd you like that? And can you please stop farting in the room as well? It stinks! Terribly! Also, I have reminded you twice to please flush CLEANLY after finishing your business but to no avail. Maybe you should just go shit somewhere else, in the nature perhaps. At least you'll be helping to grow the trees or bushes. I already put up with the fact that you're (1) dirty, (2) messy and (3) lazy, so please be a little more conscious/aware to your surroundings since there are indeed OTHERS around, we're not invisible, hello? After I move out, I truly hope that you die suffocating from the toxic of your own burping and farting.

# Pihak atasan aku yang disanjungi. Please stop informing me of anything at the last minute anymore, can? I last minute take leave can? I inform minute tell you I cannot complete the module can? I last minute tell you what the customer requested can? Sheesh.

# To some of the MRT commuters
1. Please stop blasting your songs on speaker mode, not everyone shares the same taste for music, it makes me want to shove the phone into your mouth.

2. When the train is full, its full! A slot won't automatically appear if you shoved your way in by force, wait for the next train. Else, depart earlier.

3. Can you see the arrows and lines drawn on the platform you're standing on? And the queue in front of you? Its common sense that you should be standing at the end of the line, and not in front of me! (this only applies to beings without difficulties).

4. Please stop leaning on the pole like structure meant for EVERYONE to stabilize themselves on the moving train. And if you're leaning, keep your arms down, it stinks! Sometimes so intolerable that it brings tears to my eyes.

Point 2, 3 & 4, from observation, its normally those non-locals (immigrants?) from where, I dunno, perhaps India, perhaps Bangladesh, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...

# Yang serumah dengan aku. You guys are hopeless, you'll bring devastation to everywhere you stay. Good luck.

# To the Agent. You are extremely rude. You should realize that in the servicing industry, maintaining good relation with your previous and current customers are important, as it would eventually lead to recommendations, which ultimately leads to more business. I hope that the negative attitude you exert on me would eventually lead to your downfall.

Done for now, feel so much better now! Do forgive me if I sounded a little too harsh, or evil. Sekian.

Steamboat / Potluck / Whatever.

Chuan Jiang Hao Zi (Steamboat Buffet)
12 Smith Street
Singapore 058926

Located in the heart of Chinatown's food lane, packed with stalls after stalls selling local delicacies ranging from Prawn Mee to Seafood to Kuay Chap, this restaurant is one of the few to offer Hot&Spicy Soup (Ma Lat Tong) to go with your meal. If you're wondering why steamboat when there's such a huge variety of other yummies available, the answer is most simple, value for money. HaHaHas. There isn't any particular reason to why me and E decided to eat there, its just because the restaurant came into view at that particular time, and we're hungry and also, its quite cheap considering the extensive selection of food provided. I guess all of the above kind of conclude that I'm a pretty stingy individual, so let me just tell you face on (literally) that... indeed I am. :P From here onwards, I shall let the images do the talking.

This is the abovementioned restaurant, located at the far end of Smith Street if you're coming from Chinatown MRT station. The inside's air-conditioned but if you prefer the outdoors, there are tables outside as well.

The interior of the restaurant, spotting classical chinese theme with huge wooden chairs and tables. The image you see hanging on the right contains instructions on the proper method to enjoy a steamboat meal.

The eating utensils. Wooden chopsticks, I like, at least the food won't slip down every other time, which most probably happens due to my lack of skills in using plastic chopsticks, but I refuse to admit that!

The boat/pot/whatever for us to cook our food in. On the left would be Herbal soup, while on the right is the much regretted order of Hot&Spicy soup which proved to be too much for any of us to handle. But it looks very nice right? Not forgetting to mention, huge too!

Unknown refillable appetizer. Seems to be made out of various vegetables and surprisingly, it tasted really good, with a hint of spiciness in it. We had a few plates of this alone, I think. We were given a menu (piece of paper actually) to tick on all the dishes that we wish to have, then pass it to the worker.

Sauces. Sauces. Sauces. Everything you need for a meal could possibly be there.

Here comes the food! prawns, slices of pork (bacon?), cuttlefish! ZOMGs! Everything high in cholestrol in a single plate.

We also had beef slices, mutton slices, chicken strips and the yellowish stuff you see there, are pigs' skin. Disgusting? Its super delicious I tell you.

And I never forget motherly advices okeh. Must take vegetables as well and not forgetting my favourite, golden mushrooms! A must have for steamboat, else its like eating KFC without the mash potatoes.

More veggy, the glittering blackish stuff there is pig's liver (slurps!) and some dried tofu thingy, I think the seaweed's hidden under all the vegetables.

Clockwise from top-left: Mushroom herbal soup lols, dumpling split into half, dumplings not split into halves, and the boiling Ma Lat soup.

Clockwise from top-left: More of the pig's livers (darling please don't scold me), beef on chopsticks, cuttlefish and veggy, close up of the cuttlefishes.

The bill came up to somewhere around 26SGD per person if I'm not mistaken, and that was before the GST hike to 7%. In the end, our stomachs nearly exploded as a result of stuffing ourselves silly. The herbal soup was good, not too strong nor too light and I supposed the other soup's supposed to be good (too spicy for me!) as well, since quite a number of patrons ordered that. Quite a good deal I would say but nothing special or extraordinary. Jed signing out because he just made himself really hungry.

Brotzeit @ Vivocity.

Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant was the place we went to for dinner some time back, just because E wanted something different from the usuals of either chinese food, western food, japanese food, korean food or fast food. A modern touch in the interiors, although too lightly illuminated to my liking, the restaurant is well sectionized, areas to cater for larger groups, single seaters, and an outdoor section facing the open sea, with Sentosa in view. I left the huge task of food selection to E, since he was the one who wanted to go German in the first place, while I went through the list of beers offered. Yums. I have to apologize for not recalling the actual names of the stuff we ordered, since (1) its in German and (2) its been really long. So in the end, we placed an order for a beer each (we took the smallest portion served, for fear of not really liking it, which immediately regretted this decision) and a platter of German sausages (enough for 2, according to the menu). The following pictures are taken with my K700i, excuse the quality as it was quite dark in there.

The interior. On the left would be the area for large groups, and further out would be the outdoor section. This area, single seaters.

The beer bottles. 99 bottles or beer, 99 bottles of beer...

The beers. About 300ml, me thinks. One would be thicker in texture, more hops while the other one lighter. If you ever visit this place, the beer is a MUST. I tell you, its freaking smooth and the tasted absolutely remarkable. Irresistable!

The sausages. Quite disappointing because we thought it would be huge, I mean, how could these actually be sufficient for 2? Imagine 2 ang mohs. But it was marvellous, each single one has their distinct texture and flavour. Apparently, there's an order in consuming them, as advised by the waitress serving us.

The sauce. Didn't really tasted them as the taste of the sausages were good enough.

The sexy back. Now tell me, who's bringing sexy back? Now, now, please stop drooling.

Cosy and comfortable environment, though a little to dimmed to my liking. Excellent service as the waiters/waitresses were tentative on your needs. Good food, though small in portion and the beer was excellent! Only later did we realize that we missed out on the pork knuckle promotion! I'll definitely be back for another go at its meal, but not anytime soon, as this place is a little on the pricey side.

070707.

Is just another day.

Just for the heck of it, I opened by first ever Savings Account in Singapore to commemorate this particular day, hence it shall always remain a day I did something slightly significant, or just different from the usual routine.

Nothing else, just that Eri mentioned of encountering excessive amount of brides thronging the streets of KL, and going *ahems* *ahems* later. HaHaHas.

That's The Way It Is.

A sudden urge to glance above overwhelmed me suddenly, and as I gave in, I couldn't help but to notice something different, beyond the windows. The hall looks exceptionally darker, than usual. Brushing that thought aside, I entered the premises, up a flight of stairs, and made my way in. I flipped one of the switches while taking off my shoes without reaction of any type. Perhaps just a blown fuse, I wondered, but when further trials with the other sources of illumination failed as well, I was dumbfounded. Then I was distracted by something laying on the floor just beside me, possibly slipped through the narrow opening below the wooden door. Upon careful inspection, I realize its nothing but an envelope, with a content. Deep down inside, a voice within myself was telling me that it definitely has something to do with the current situation and I opened the envelope, hastily. It was an absolute shock to find out something so disturbing...

Actually, I'm just adding a little flavour to my else very boring post. Apparently, the owner of that guesthouse (the company is renting it from someone else) has failed to pay the utility bills for quite sometime even with repeated reminders, hence, a technician was sent over to disconnect the power supply. Stated in the notice as well, should the payment be delayed by another week, the water supply would be reduced significantly as well. Such efficiency! Not much choices left other than inform the person in charge regarding this issue and bear with it for the night since it was already late into the night.

Buat kecoh saje, ganggu aku tidur lagi tu, celaka betul.

Some people are meant for greatness, while others, just noises.

Mii.

I realize it has been a while since I've posted an image of myself in my own blog, perhaps, even a little too long. Do anyone of you still remember how I look like since I'm also physically away, not being able to meet up that regularly? As a precaution, before everyone of you guys and girls out there forget how I look like, here's Mii. Also, I admit I'm a little lazy. Haha.

This picture makes me look as though I have a big chin/head. I'm smugging because the girlfriend is late again, and she even forgot about the vouchers. And I spot a different hairstyle now, but as my hair grow longer, its becoming like above.

Lately.

+ Busy hunting for a room lately, not an easy task when you have certain facilities/features to meet, even through agents. Any SG readers here with/knows of rooms to let? Preferbly with broadband, within 2-3 stations from Jurong East and most importantly, not that expensive. Hhhmmm, a little too fussy?

+ The current place that I'm living in (company guesthouse, free accomodation) looks like a slump because its surrounded by luxurious condominiums and posh apartments. Every night, while making my journey home, I never fail to look at them and wished I was living there instead. Sigh...

+ I got a SG number just because running on global roaming for 6 months is insane, learnt my lesson through the previous month's bill. However, I didn't cancel off my Maxis number, you can still leave me a sms there as I'll run it once every night. I only have one phone, okay?

+ I'll need to be super careful with my expenditure for the coming weeks, as my salary would only come in by the 7th of August. That means, no supper, no snacks, no buffet, no shopping, no beers, etc. etc. Refer to the first item as well. Woe is me...

+ Current most frequently played songs:
# When You're Gone - Avril Lavigne
# Home - Chris Daughtry
# Wait For You - Elliot Yamin
# Over It - Katharine McPhee
# I Wanna Go Home - Michael Buble
# Come Back to Me - Vanessa Hudgens

+ Jeffrey Archer is keeping me awake till 2 something in the morning for the past nights. Currently on Chapter 12 of Kane and Abel (yah, I know its quite old, but still, a good read).

+ Oh, just found out that the femes-femes Suanie and Fireangel are heading down to SG, tomorrow? Or the day after? Maybe I should go stalk them... *wonders*

+ Time flies, without realizing, it has already been one full week since I stepped into SG. I'm missing home already...

Windows Live Messenger, Infected.

First and foremost, let me apologize to whoever that got spammed, or worse, affected by accepting and running a particular file sent out by the Worm that infected my Windows Live Messenger (WLM) yesterday. I seek for your forgiveness, my deepest apologies to each and everyone.

Honestly, its truly embarassing that I, as an individual in the IT profession, to be infected in the first place, such display of carelessness is totally unacceptable. I shall punish myself by running around the office block for a hundred time. Actually, there's no one to be blamed but myself, to be tricked into executing the file (btw, the file I received was entitled photo-album, sent by the gf of a UniHouseMate). Fortunately, its nothing serious else I would definitely be in the deepest shit possible. Now for a little knowledge sharing session regarding the effect of executing the Worm (from my own understanding and research, do correct me if I've made any mistakes).

To be exact, its W32.SillyIRC, a variant of the W32.Silly family of worms that spread using IRC based applications. When executed, it begins to quickly spread to every single individual existing in your WLM contact list, by attaching itself to esent.dll (Server Database Storage Engine Library), one of the required system process in windows. The first thing to do when you found out you've been affected (WLM chatboxes rapidly popping-up, semi-hanging your machine) is to close off your Messenger. You can do so by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, then bring up the Task Manager and under the Processes tab, and kill off msnmsgr.exe.

Next, ensure that your Virus Definition File in your AntiVirus is up-to-date and run a full scan on your system drive (normally, that would be C drive). When done, you should be able to see the file W32.SillyIRC listed on the scan result; delete the file (some antivirus might have been set to automate the deletion/quarantine process). This should be sufficient as the source has already been removed but I took one step further by running a FULL uninstallation on WLM (including removal of the contacts folder) and then run a full system scan again on the machine, just because its company's property. I only reinstall WLM when the scan yielded a satisfying result.

For me, so far, so good *touch-wood*. Hope the above would be able to provide you with some lead/assistance, should you ever require them.

Transformers.

Curi-ed from SerpentJen. Thanks yah, KaKaKas. Dunno where she curi-ed from lah.

Please go watch it immediately because there are many things in life that should not be missed, and this is one of it. The transformation is just too awesome, the level of details, the sound effects *kikikikuku*, those scenes seriously left me gazing in awe, and drooling as well. And now, for those who couldn't really catch which is which and who is who, I shall be more than glad to enlighten you, since I have no idea what to talk about, but I'm sure most of you did, right? Right? Anyhows...

Autobots (there are only 5 of them)
Optimus Prime - the truck, leader of the Autobots
Bumblebee - Sam's yellow car (Chevrolet Camaro)
Jazz - the small grey sports car (Pontiac)
Ironhide - the pick-up truck, the one who showed off the large cannons
Ratchet - the Hummer, the large squarish vehicle, also the medic

Decepticons (8 of them)
Megatron
- the frozen leader
Starscream - the plane, F22 Raptor (he's the second in command)
Barricade - the police car
Frenzy - the smallest Decepticons that transformed into a CD player, and makes annoying sounds
Blackout - the chopper, attacked the military bas in Qatar
Boncrusher - the one Prime defeated on the highway, beheaded, lols
Scorponok - the mechanical scorpion that attacked the surviving soldiers, detached from Blackout
Devastator - the tank

Last but not least, the final battle scenes, I kinda felt that its too fast for the eye to catch and the brain to process, or maybe I'm just slow. All the simultaneous explosions, effects and movements on the screen, made it impossible to interpret what was really happening, but still awesome. And too much unnecessary scenes (any in particular reminded you of the Matrix and Batman?), also, some characters are built up so much but in the end, didn't make any significant impact on the storyline. Then (this part contains spoilers, highlight at your own risk) How come Bumbleebee can suddenly talk in the end and wtf! Megatron so easily defeated?!!? He tore Jazz apart so effortlessly, and practically walloped Prime. And Starscream was shown taking flight into space when the credits were rolling (a short cut-scene), did you catch that?

That's all about Transformers from me. Wait for the sequel, pretty sure AhFoo said confirmed there'll be one.

p/s :: Forgot to mention, I was seated next to a middle aged man who just can't seem to shut up. Every scene also got something to talk about, this robot good one lah, look it's transforming lah, that one coming out from the sand lah, attacking from behind lah. O.M.G. So Potong Stim can? Super hate this type of people one. Then the wife or girlfriend also same kind one, so the annoying can? Then, the moment I finally decided give him a piece of my mind (cannot tahan aanymore), he suddenly became quiet, until the end, as though he felt my violent/angry aura overwhelming him. Or maybe someone threw popcorn at him, can't be sure. After the movie, E suggested that I should've joined his conversation, just to annoy him. O_o

Sammi Show 'Mi' 2007, Genting Pt.2.

After Hins retreated, Sammi returned, to perform her dance numbers, to the ultimate delight of her fans who were all screaming and shouting and standing and grooving and everything. Most of the time, it was those on the VIP seats that were doing the abovementioned, also, some from the back ran forward to take pictures of her when opportunity arises, much to the annoyance of security personnels there. Me? I just zoom, HaHaHas. Honestly, she was dancing as though she's high on some sort of medication, prancing here and there, head swinging like she was letting loose of herself. Then there were pyrotechnics, which shocked everyone a little for a spilt second, including the dancers. By the time she was done, most of the audiences were asking for more, she joked something along the line of running out of breath, want her to die is it? Lols! In actual fact, during short breaks in between her performances, she always manages a few jokes or comments, sometimes sarcastically, that gets her audiences roaring with laughter. I like that! A little sarcasm never hurts, eh? *hints to someone who always say that I'm very sarcastic*

Getting ready for the dance numbers.

The audiences going wild and crazy. Even the security can't even get close enough to subdue them.

After all the dancing, interacting a little with everyone, literally.

Soon enough, came the ending, as the introduction and appreciation round to all the musicians, dancers, vocals, the sponsors (this part really funny and the way I describe it, might ruin it, so, too bad), etc. etc were done. Before finally disappearing, she mentioned that the audiences should know what to do if we wanted more of her and everybody started shouting for encore and making lots and lots of noises, for like, 15 minutes? I wonder where everyone get that kind of energy from. Needless to say, of course she returned to the stage lah and this time around, performed more towards her classic hits. A few songs later, she decided it was time for handshakes and oh.my.gawd. waves of people started running and pushing their way to the front. By the time she finally got down from the stage, she was practically mobbed to the extend that even the camera (for the huge displays) couldn't capture a glimpse of her. Me? I was sitting peacefully on my chair, reviewing the pictures I took.

By the end of her song, she only managed like a few steps away from where she started. O_o The experience of touching her, really that amazing, enough for you to risk your life into a moving mob meh?? Anyway, for her final stint, she invited a member of the audience (from the mid-VIP seats, that's the nearest to the stage, so, next time you'll know where to be seated in a concert) onstage to sing with her (my Sis went for the concert on Saturday and told me that she invited four that time, wahrao). I tell you, the conversation that this lucky dude had with Sammi on stage, really hillarious because of some language problems but worst of all, he didn't really know the lyrics of the song he's supposed to be singing. But of course he wasn't booed down lah, Malaysians are well-known to be kind and helpful right? So, he was assisted along the way. In the end, he got a limited edition t-shirt which was unfortunately, too small for him *laughs* So, it was really the end after she re-performed "Jung Sam Mei Lai", confettis were released as she retreated backstage.

Sammi returns, after bouts of encores from the fans, performing her classic hits. At least I can recognize a few songs now.

A rather cute facial expression that I managed to capture.

I was too entertained by the dialogue between her and the invited fan that I forgot to capture any photographs for that stint.

The finale.

All in all, the concert was good stuff and I'm not complaining cause its free *hearts Maxis* A well-balanced mixture of fast and slow numbers from Sammi, good interaction from her as well, an unexpected guest appearance by Hins (didn't know until I reach there) and last but not least, energetic and lively audiences, that kind of irritated me at times. Its a total 360% of difference from Sally Yeh's concert, which I prefered as everyone was better behaved, or maybe just because I'm old. Now, I shall return to hunt for more free concert tickets. Jacky Cheung! Hacken Lee! Chow Wakin!
