i met them...

Few weeks back, there was a small gathering at The Curve because I feel like seeing some people which I have not seen for ages since a gathering some time ago. I managed to get a few people, to get another few people but in the end another few couldn't make it. I was to head over to Pandan Indah to pick Mikel and he nearly blew me to pieces by calling me while I was standing next to the refuelling rig at a petrol station. And later m!ss s!mple called me a slow poke and emoed me for reaching 7 minutes later than her who also arrived 18 minutes late. Wahrao, like that also can, what a great beginning...

These are the pictures when we makan @ Vivo.

slinky sporting a new hair style + the person who emo-ed me

albert, cool as a cucumber, never look at my camera

cheryl, in style

the mess we made, with albert no-look-at-camera and pink-o-pop

the one who nearly got me blasted to pieces

me, looking weird and the answer is NO, I am not married

yes, I know the picture is blur, but I couldn't resist not posting this. Notice how Rames did the Cheryl pose. I shall refrain from saying more *proceeds to roll on floor laughing*

So, after being done with the food (yes, as mentioned by pop, I was the last to finish but my dish arrived last what) and being done with cam-whoring, we walked around. Its always good to stroll after a meal, eases the digestion, as I was told. Hung out somewhere between the walk and the street, and had a little 3G session with Ah Kel and Uncle Calvin, who said they couldn't make but but later on appeared. By the way, that was my first 3G experience (you had better stop laughing). Temptations to get a 3G phone has never been greater...

sony alpha(S) vs sony alpha(L)

On a side note, today is Uncle Calvin's birthday!!! I wish U a happy birthday, I wish U a happy birthday, I wish U a happy birthday and another happy year! Though you're old, stay young at hear ok? Rawk (and shuffle) on!!!!!

now stop playing with your burger and eat it!

to work...

Weeks of driving to work from Cheras to Brickfields coupled with some statistical analysis has brought me to the following conclusion. Hope it helps in managing and planning your schedule if you're heading there. Do take note that the analysis is done according to an average value of only 5 working days (accident free journey) and totally based on my driving style (which according to pop, is like "omg, so slow!"). So, don't come look for me should anything go wrong...

Route Taken
From Sri Bahtera (home) -- Cheras roundabout -- Jalan Cheras -- Loke Yew (use Tidal Flow) -- Jalan Maharajalela -- Jalan Sultan Sulaiman -- Jalan Susur (through Syed Putra) -- Jalan Tun Sambanthan.

Time Analysis
DepartureArrival
08000850
08150912
08300908
08450910

Hot Spots (where congestion often occurs)
  • From Cheras roundabout to Taman Midah
  • Whole stretch of Loke Yew (caused by those that cut queues + heavy volume of traffic)
  • Exit to Bulatan Sungai Besi (if you're not using the tidal flow)

  • Maybe I should try heading out at 0900 once. Anyway, this public announcement is brought to you by Jed, from jedrantsagain.blogspot.com. Thank you for visiting. Have a nice day!

p/s: Street Directory is currently implementing Malaysia into its system, though its just in the Beta stages. Do check it out, its pretty cool - affiliation with Google has enabled users to view satellite images of the maps! When I was in Singapore, I pretty much relied on it to get around. kopi-diam...

    Continuation from here.

Had a meal at Kopitiam (located at the Food Junction of Leisure Mall) because the girlfriend was hungry. Ming Teck and his significant other only had drinks, while Calvin and I had the breakfast set (roti bakar + tea/coffee + 2 half-boiled eggs) at 2.30pm and the girlfriend had Fish Paste Meehoon.

this is Calvin. He ordered the breakfast set as well. He had trouble breaking open the half-boiled eggs. He seeked assistance. I laughed. I'm evil. I know.

this is Ming Teck. He offered to help Calvin but made a mess while trying to do so. I pointed at him and laughed. Join me or hate me. Calvin proceeded to complain that Teck dropped fragments of eggshells into the eggs.

this is Sorry-I-Forgot-Name-Again, Teck's significant other. She's younger, but a lot better than both of them in breaking the eggs. I was relieved as Teck finally found someone who can take care of him. Haha!

as for me, I am pro. No need to elaborate any further.

    coffee. kao.

roti bakar, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. But nothing really special, I prefer the bread to be toasted using charcoal heat! yummy!

    fish paste noodle

Some of the house specialities here are quite nice and the price, reasonable, I should say. Ok, the end. You should be quite hungry now, go eat your breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatever.

    you, me and msn...

Not too long ago, on a dark and silence Tuesday night, through the slidings of the window pane, a young man could be seen staring intensely upon the screen of his monitor. Occasional eerie, high pitched laughters could be heard from him. His hands were guiding the movement of the mouse in peculiar motions, as if scribbling something. This went on for quite sometime and a little later, the young lady, who had been observing from afar, could no longer bear her curiosity. She inched closer to the young men, slowly and stealthily, not wanting to distract his focus. All the while, she could hear her heart beating profusely, eyes fixed on the screen, anticipating. The moment she set her eyes on the screen, she let out a short gasp; thus, causing the young man to shift his attention to her. He grinned...

    This was what she saw...

This is what happens when 2 individuals who have nothing to do, with too much free time and are feeling creative, chats. Oh, that's m!ss s!mple btw, in case you're lazy to figure out. The paragraph above? Have absolutely nothing to do with the pictures, just to fill some spaces, hahaha!

Since I could not think of anything to say, I'll just post some pictures instead. Pictures does say a thousand words, right?

    just a hundred...

100th post! Nothing to shout about, since this figure was initially supposed to occur few months back. This meant that on average, I post an entry once every 2.5 days, a far cry from at least a post a day that I had in mind. Imagine, if I did keep with my original plans, I would have approximately 250 posts lurking in my archive at current time. Sweet! Alas, no use in looking back anymore. I'll just comfort myself by the thought of prefering quality over quantity. Lame? I know, but that's me...

On the other hand, I was ransacking through my bag in the office today in search for name cards when I stumbled upon some free Spicy Chicken McNuggets coupons, only applicable with purchase of a large Foldover McValue Meal. With the help of the coupons, I managed to persuade the colleague to head over the McD for lunch, haha! Who could resist the temptations of free food?!?! So, upon placing my order, I presented the coupon to the person-who-took-my-order (which I shall refer to as MissA later on, because I'm not sure of the proper reference). To my dismay, MissA told me that the Spicy Chicken McNuggets have run out of stock at that branch (KL Sentral), totally defeating my purpose of having McD in the first place!

Not satisfied, I enquired her would it be possible to exchange the coupon for regular nuggets instead, since its still Chicken Nuggets anyway. Also cannot, policy woh. I took a look at my colleague who is already receiving his order, meaning no turning back, and proceeded with mine nevertheless. Upon receiving my orders, I headed over to the colleague and the following conversation occured:

    Me: Let's make a move.
The Colleague (TC): Wait lah, still waiting for my nuggets.
    Me: wtf?!?!?!
    TC: wtf?!!?!?
Me: I was told that they've run out of stock for the Spicy Nuggets.
TC: Dunno, they told me to wait for a moment, its being prepared in the kitchen.
    Me: wtf??!?!?!
TC: Maybe its your muka punya pasal (yong sui)
Me: *glares at him* Ok loh, we wait.

*Waited for about 10 minutes for the nuggets in a FAST food chain*

TC: *receives his nuggets* Nah, see.
Me: Verify that its spicy first lah.
TC: ..... *takes a bite* confirm spicy! *coughs*
Me: *Approached MissA* Excuse me, I was told earlier on that the spicy nuggets were out of stock (sarcastic tone while gesturing for her to look at the colleague).

*MissA remained speechless for a moment as the supervisor stepped in*

Supervisor: Oh, sorry sir. We received the stock for the nuggets only just now. We'll attend to your order immediately.
Me: Oh really? Ok, I'll just leave my coupon here *grins*

    *20 seconds later*

SomeStaff: Hi sir, here's your nuggets. Sorry for the delay and enjoy your meal. Please come again.
    Me: Thank you.
TC: You better check the contents to make sure its not just an empty paper bag!
Me: *Laughs* Ok, Ok. *Proceeded to check*. Affirmative. Let's go.

Should I leave just like that? What should be done instead?
TrioA: Empty the bag of nuggets on the floor and proceed to squash them in front of the counter.
TrioB: Take out the nuggets one by one and threw them over the counter.
TrioC: Let it be, don't waste food.

Enter TrioA, TrioB or TrioC and sms to 34567 to select the ending of your choice. Each SMS will be charged RM0.50. Participants selected in the weekly lucky draw will receive a Spicy Chicken McNuggets coupon and a chance to dine with me, haha! Anyway, back in the office, after finishing the foldover, I realized that I was not what I once used to be because..... because... because..... I felt full!!! I used to be able to make a clean sweep of a large McValue meal + McNuggets + McEgg without the slightest problem. But now? I have yet to touch my fries, nor my nuggets, nor my Coke!!! At the time I'm typing this, which is about 5 hours later, I still have the nuggets with me untouched and half of the now diluted Coke left... Gosh...

On another hand, since the other hand is already occupied, this is in retaliation to jen's post. Samalah kita orang...

    ka-ra-ok?

Few Saturdays back, Teck initiated a mini karaoke session @ Neway Cheras. This fella only informed me about the outing 2 hours beforehand, which was approximately 0900. I was reluctant to join him because at that time, I was accompanying the girlfriend to someplace in Segambut to settle the insurance-claim-related documents, thus, leaving me little time to prepare. Not even having time to eat breakfast leh! Babi betul. Anyway, since he was willing to come over and pick me up, I decided to layan him a bit. Made it there just in time, else the booking would have been canceled. We were later joined by Calvin.

some architecture in front of Cheras Plaza

    calvin, not enough sleep look

free flow of drinks. mind you, this is not beer, its mango juice in a tiger beer mug, therefore should be called mango tiger juice

compulsory order of a main dish, this is "kam heong seafood fried rice" :: not kam and not heong at all

Karaoke sessions often leave me in regret for not taking up Chinese/Mandarin classes. If you're planning to tell me about the gazillion sites with pin yins of the latest songs in the Internet, I know bout those but do remember that a bunch of bananas with a bunch of pin yin lyrics will still be unable to sing those translated songs as there'll be no one who'll be able to select the songs. Haha! Fortunately, this time around, we have Teck's girlfriend to thank!

    teck and girlfriend

teck and girlfriend again, in the darker side...

this is calvin, he used to be very good looking, haha...

After 2 hours of gruelling stress to our voice, we made a move (kena halau what) to Leisure Mall to have another meal, and were joined by the girlfriend.

In an unrelated note, I would like to wish UniJunior a very, happy birthday!!! Ah Phey, older by another year already lah, must "sang sang seng seng" ah! Wish you all the best and may all your dreams come true! Cepat kahwin also lah! Hahaha! Cannot find nice picture of you from my archive to post up! Faster send 1 to me!!!

    five three...

The following is dedicated to a very special person in my life, the girlfriend...

    Do you remember...
On the very first 14th where it all began, how, for the very first time, I held your hand in mine? You halted your steps, turned to me and gave a surprised look. Not the reaction that I had expected, drops of sweat began forming on my palm and forehead. My hand turned cold and I shivered a little. I feared the worst, but it all faded away when your lips carved a smile upon your enchanting face. I returned your smile. From that moment on, I knew that I would want to have this hand to hold for the days to come, never to let it go...

    Do you realize...
To this very day, on the 53rd 14th, I still hold your hand the same way I did on the very first time? The same feeling of holding you close and never wanting to let go? Nothing has faded, only grew stronger after all the obstacles and hardships that we've been through together. Though not shown or expressed that often, when I did say it to you, each and every single word comes sincerely...

    Do you know...
I still feel the same way for you, as I did when it all began. You have always been my pillar of strength and my source of inspiration whenever I'm lost, guiding me through, ensuring that I prevail in the end. You gave me the faith and courage to move on because I knew, deep within me, no matter the consequences, you'll always be there, right beside me, in the end...

    And so...
My dearest, do know what you really mean a lot to me, and I, would not be the person that I am today, without you. You made me, a better man. Love you always, till the end...

Last but not least, Happy 53rd months of togetherness...

    fooxion gathering...

Sept 4th, 2006 - Another gathering of FooXion members at Chillis Mid Valley, organized by the one and only Becky (thanks gurl!) . I arrived about half an hour later (hey, I got a very good and valid reason okay? Read on.) than the designated time because I headed back to Cheras from KL Sentral to fetch the girlfriend. In total, there were about 20++ individuals, including some non-FooXioners were present, taking up 5 tables, occupying the whole stretch of left corner of the restaurant. Power or not? Finally, the opportunity for me to meet up with Mama Zura (who emo-ed me @ first, kan? kan? kan?) and Leo, whom I shook hand with while asking "Who's this" at the same time.

    the health concious ones

chocolate temptations with an unfortunate ending, it will later on be crushed and blended into milkshake... poor thing

the not so health concious ones, to the one who took this, dun lah terasa ok? :P

One significant difference about this gathering is that lots of peeps brought their cameras along and since the lighting in Chillis is you-know-what, it was inevitable to use flash. Mr.PoP was happily flashing around with his upgraded tool *does it sound wrong to you? bah!* Especially when the orders arrived, the amount of heat generated from all those flash lights could probably upgrade the meat from medium rare to well done. I'm serious!

    pOserpOp

    pOserpOp, pOser-sOrry-i-fOrgOt-name, pOserkurt, pOserpenguin, pOsermilk

    eyes on me

old quacks + new quack of the quack family

Much, much photographing and camwhoring later (biasa lah!), it was time to say goodbye, not before another round of "aim and clicks". Some adjourned to meet up with RyantheLion, while others made their way home *hey, its Monday lah... tomorrow still need to work!*. It was a great meet-up and once again thanks to Becky for such a fun-filled gathering. Another round of applause! I'm sure everyone enjoyed their self very much... Long live FooXion!!!

    one for the album

    blank...

An earlier conversation with KY (not the one from KYSpeaks)...

KY: Ei, when you coming down to Singapore?
Me: Hah? Not sure woh, management haven't got back to me regarding this...
KY: Want to go see aquarium when you're down?
    Me: What aquarium?
    KY: Geylang one
    Me: Lolz...

Hopefully, Miss HL does not read my blog, and if the above conversation does not ring any bells, good for you. Don't bother to ask around as the answer will only corrupt your mind. But if you do understand, come join us. Hahaha!

Oh, just to inform you peeps beforehand, the entry you're about to read does not have anything to do with the above conversation snippet, in case you're scrolling down expecting something nice and juicy...

I did not update yesterday because I spent close to an hour thinking of what to write, to no avail. The mind was totally blank, similar to a pool of blanko liquid formed on a piece of white paper. It might be a case of writer's block but I doubt so and its not possible since I'm nowhere close to a writer, haha. Stupid joke. Anyway, since nothing came to my mind, I head to the bed and rolled about a few times; by doing so, my impulses might get squashed together to form something intelligent. Indeed it worked as I fell asleep minutes later (tell me, what's smarter than sleeping at that point?) only to be awaken 30 minutes later by Daddy karaoke-ing his heart out on some oldies.

I sat myself in front of the PC once again, staring blankly into the screen. Took a quick check on my downloads, saw that Dead Man's Chest (so, I'm a bit late, you've got a problem with it?) was at 100%, double clicked on Windows Media Player, dragged and dropped the movie in, sat back and chilled. Not as good as I expected it to be after all the excellent reviews and positive recommendations by friends but nevertheless, will worth the caramel popcorn plus jumbo coke. Next thing I knew, I overslept and was rushing to work like a mad cow. One of the reasons why there are no late night screenings in cinema on weekdays.

    him...

    The gust of soft breeze,
    not able to be seen,
    only felt,
    by him,
    who slowed his pace,
    and halted his steps,
    to take a moment,
    to be,
    immersed in his own thoughts,
    while others,
    hassled and hurried by.
Another speck of coolness brushed him,
    and he lifted his head,
    his eyes,
staring blankly into the vast skies above him,
    and smiled, to himself,
then took a small step forward,
    to proceed,
    with his journey...

    du-ri-ans...

    the king!

2 weeks back, Dad went for his annual durian gathering/picking trip somewhere in Bentong, Pahang with his gang. And as usual, I really look forward to his outing (which ironically, I never once followed) as much as he does because he'll be bringing back the best-est tasting durians for us to gobble and devour, always! But, only by half a day later will he be back with the goodies...

fruits of labour. If you think that's a lot, scroll down...

muahahaha! I shall be having durian for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! Unfortunately, these are for my uncle...

By late afternoon, its finally here and nothing, I really mean nothing could stop me from eating them durians, even if I was to have it alone. Mom was still full from lunch, and Dad said that he already had too much. Sendiri buka, sendiri makan, syok sendiri lah then. It was not until nightfall that the feast really begun. Earlier on, Dad skipped dinner, only to eat more durians later. Sweat or not?

    a love or hate affair

this is a "mau kiok" (direct translation: leg/foot of a cat) which I have no idea what it's supposed to mean.

this one is a D24, looks like its pregnant also. hahaha.

just to show these are indeed fresh! lookie, the sap is still there...

On a side note, Michael Schumacher has announced his retirement from Formula One, this, being his final season. Sigh... Oh, Ferarri has retained Massa for 2007 and the IceMan (Raikkonen) will be joining him, coolness!
