yum char @ tmn b.i.l.l.i.o.n.

For those who are living in Cheras Bt 5 or its surrounding area, most would have heard of Tmn Billion :: which is famous as a concentrated spot for cheap western dining (chops, steaks, burgers, jumbo fruit juices, etc. etc.).

The following paragraph is solely based on my memory and opinion, please rectify should there be any errors or misinformation...
The concentration of these western cuisines in Tmn Billion dated back to 1999 or less. During these times, the currently well established shops were just make-shift stalls on the side of the hill (much like what we still see in Tmn Saga). The selling point of the food there were its relatively cheap price and the beautiful scenery of night life.

However, as business grew, the residents in Tmn Billion were unable to tolerate with the commotion generated by these business and therefore staged a protest against them. Relevant authorities took action and demolished these make-shift stalls.

Thus, without any other alternatives, the owner(s) moved into shoplots along the hillside stretch and restarted from scratch. Business were hard initially due to the price hike and the diminishing of hill side view. Alternatives such as live performance and live telecasts on HUGE screen displays were implemented :: slowly but steadily, customers begin to re-patronize the area.

And today, business there is just as good as any other given day. End!

- end of crappy stuff -

Last Friday, due to constant persuasion, nagging and begging by ky, we headed to Rendezvous Tmn Billion for a yum char session :: as usual, only me, mun yee and him. This time, there was something new implemented:

New toy in da house :: we name it the beeper. When initiated, the beeper will send a signal to a device (similar to a watch) wore by the employees regarding the request by table number. Cool yeah?!?!

The Good: Good to use in restaurants to minimize cases of ignoring waiters/waitresses or waiting too long for orders/bills/etc. etc.

The Bad: Bad to be used in Office where your boss keep on beeping for you.

The Ugly: Parents and Children/Husband and Wife tracking each other in da house...

Messing around with the flash and night mode settings in the camera (which both did not produce nice outcomes), nothing beats result from external lighting. Therefore, the revolutionary K700i (my phone lar)was put into action again. This time, acting as an external light source :: making the impossible, possible. Lo and behold:

Yum Seng!

Lychee drink

Mango Fruity

This is Baked Cheese Crab. I was expecting something like flosses of crabmeat in da shell baked in cheese (yummy). Manatau its like fishmeat in crab shell. dang!

april, 26

a big thank you to everyone who for your best wishes today...

huggies and love to my parents, my sis (mana present ku?!?!), darling mun yee, adrianne, jason, ky, yc, min phey, my bunch of colleagues, auntie lc, sam and everyone else...

to the trio of adrianne, jason, and mun yee :: thanks for waking me up from sleep 15 minutes in between...

What other interesting things that happened in KL on the 26th:

Flash flood in KL :: after a long absence, flash flood returned to KL causing a tremendously long stretch of congestion on every road heading to KL.
aftermath: starvation and hunger pangs, re-routed to sungei besi from muzium negara, wise choice!

unLucky Strike :: due to the thunderstorms and heavy down-pours, bolts of lightning struck down mercilessly onto streets of KL
aftermath: a contractor was struck to death by lightning (first in KL ah?), also setting fire to a house (also first in KL ah?)

seems like my date of birth vowed to bring more tragedy than joy and luck, ish...

r.e.b.i.r.t.h.

I finally got my lazy bum off my bed to apply the final changes to moi design and taa daaaah...
New skin... hope y'all like it!

l.u.n.c.h. @ wong kok CCT

It actually happened on Saturday, ha.ha..ha... As mun yee was quite occupied, I had to find my own form of entertainment. So, I decided to meet up with my long lost god-sis who somehow disappeared for quite some time and has currently resurfaced to the living world again. Talk about creepy!

The "teh ais" ordered... still prefer the hazelnut lai char...

We headed to the womgKok @ SS2 cos YC has finally decided to pay and collect her graduation photos which were taken during convocation early of August 2005. I congratulated her for finally being able to have a look at her(ugly)self on stage during convo after patiently waiting for 8 months.

This is YC...who always "sienz" one :: this time she very "sienz" cause she was having a bad hair day; therefore, claiming to have rights to torture me

As it was quite late, I just had plain noodles with 'lai char' :: teh ais equivalent while she had a serving of cheesed baked rice and some choco lava thingy. Technically challenged, I could not get a good shot of my noodles. f**k.

This is the Choco Lava thingy... which is damn chocolaty (by my standard)

This is me being hypnotized by the temptation aura generated by the drink... calling me to drink it...one more time... just one more time...

She also very "Sienz" cause against my advice, she ordered cheese baked rice... Look again how "Sienz" she is with her meal...

End of Story.

night's o.u.t.

Dinner @ Chilli's KLCC on Saturday night. I wonder if anyone actually felt or realize it, but to me, the service here (Chilli's KLCC) is absolutely fantastic :: fast and efficient. Compared to the one in One Utama, its like comparing a Kancil with a BMW 7series (or comparing me with Tom Cruise :: of course me being more eligible, :P). No Fight!

Guests of Honour :: Me, mun yee, and monkey (pics of monkey will come later) :: yes, we're all very honourable. Come honour us!

This is our appetizer! Some Torteillo Chips thingy, ordered because it's refillable (yes, r-e-f-i-l-l-a-b-l-e) therefore, allowing me and mun yee to keep monkey tame by continously feeding him.

Refillable Ice Lemon Tea - which was refilled 4 times :: could have gone for more, but was tad bit too "flavoured" for me (no flash)

Orange juice - refilled once :: Guava juice - refilled 7-8 times (yes, now you know monkey needs lots of fluid (with low flash)

Some Fajita thingy - the "edible wrapper" is also refillable

Jed's note: We're not cheap-skates! The follwing food items you will be seeing are not refillable! NOT refillable!

Some toppings to go with the Fajitas :: That's not ice-cream you are seeing, its mayo!

Exhibit A : Solely prepared and decorated by monkey

mun yee had the Tomato Basil Pasta or something like that :: which was a bit too tomato-rish for me

Being the "tong-nasi" I am, I must have rice!!! Some Prawn and Chicken thingy (to management of Chilli's, please consider reducing the length of item names on da menu...)

Makan time!

Environment is pleasant but not suitable for taking pictures... too glum & yellowish...

u.p.d.a.t.e.s.

Nothing really interesting has happened to me recently. There will be some drastic changes, but at this moment, I cannot divulge you into much of the ipsy, juicy things yet. Because I felt really guilty of not updating my blog for such a long time; here are some updates just to free myself from feeling bad...

*Yeapz, I'm a selfish moron*

12th April 2006: Happy bDay Daddy, Happy bDay CW's Mom, Happy bDay AprilCherrie
Previous Sunday before the abovementioned date, we had a steamboat feast, and I really mean feast.
Basic set: 5 person
Self brought items: Prawns, Salmon Balls (thinking of something else?)
Extras ordered: Fish meat, Wantons, Crabs, Vege, Fried curry squid, and lupa

Outcome: Stuffed like there's no tomorrow (bad habit)

16th April 2006: Happy bDay Mommy
Exposed my parents to the world of modern karaoke (Neway Cheras) and let them sang their heart out. Never to old to sing!
Dinner out again.

18th April 2006: Recurring Dream
Deja Vu. Once upon a time, I had a dream about being young (as in children) meeting a Japanese Girl in the Western Plains, being attacked by bandits...
Today, I had a dream about being in Japan, saw the same Japanese Girl (all grown up like me) and talked about the previous dream.

I mean how often do you get Chapter2 of a dream... might be a trilogy... hahaha! Might be due to me sleeping with too many electronic gadgets surrounding me... Any girl in Japan having the same dream?!?!?!

Jed's fact:
I found out that I seldom take pics even though I bring the camera along...

t.i.c.k.e.t. to indulgence

An unexpected mail arrived at my doorstep today... couriered mail, which adds up more to the suspense...

PosLaju, confirm "laju" punya...

Something crossed my mind, with utter excitement like a child shredding the wrappers of the Christmas present; the mail indeed unveiled what I had expected...

arrow pointing to my type... choice

My ticket to indulgence... come to papa...

Come to think of it, I'm quite taken aback by the fact that it took me that long to finally apply for a credit card. Must be me knowing myself that I lack the control of spending less than I am earning. Even without a card, my first paycheck was spend lavishly on I dunno what, I dunno how and I dunno where; mainly because I took the liberty of searching endlessly, queueing patiently and withdrawing continuously from ATM machines. I really wonder if I could have survived given a credit card back then... scary thought...

the f.i.n.a.l. installment

How I wish that the title actually reflects my car loan... the final installment! Perhaps I should dream on later...

Superb aerial view from the 22nd floor... don't you wish you can wake up to this every morning?

Well, most of the day was spent in the casino (Starworld :: seems easy and convenient to enter, moreover, was not prepared for much formality). Practically, 5 out of 10 individual in the casino is a smoker. Yeapz, the ultimate multi-taskers. You'll be amazed that they are able to gamble, strategize, smoke, drink, and even cuss at any given moment. As I lack experience on table gaming, I decided to go for slot machines, less crowd, less smoke, less hassle. There were like hundreds and hundreds of different slot machines to choose from. Talk about being spoilt for choices...

Decoration for the Vietnam Food Fair

I did win 10 bucks, hahaha. Considering the slot machine costs 5 cents per spin, 10 bucks is equivalent to a 20,000% win. Any reason for me not to be happy? In case you're wondering why there are no pictures, cameras are not allowed in the casino. If you ever thought of 'curi-curi' take a photo, please follow the instruction noted below beforehand:

Look at the freaking ceiling

There are practically more CCTVs there than the grand total of rooms in First World Hotel (ok... I am exaggerating, but there really is A LOT of cameras). Heed my advice...

Indoor theme park night view

Walked around, enjoying the cool breeze before getting major headache on deciding where and what to eat. This is actually the first time ever (for me) for a trip to Genting without eating any fast food... *beaming with pride* So we went back to Flavours to try out their food minus the 'tong sui'; I must have pretty good taste/great sense in ordering as all the stuff that I wanted was sold out... So, we had some:

Rice with ABC Soup

Chicken with BBQ sauce + rice

Therefore, this trip is basically filled with lots and lots of eating and shopping; other activities include:

4D-Motion Master :: had me wondering what happened because I think my vision cacat-ed. I could not really experience what happened even with the following combination:
- wearing glasses + special specs provided
- not wearing glasses + special specs provided
- wearing glasses
- not wearing glasses
- wearing glasses + mun yee's special specs provided (which she said worked wonders for her)
- not wearing glasses + mun yee's special specs provided

Therefore, I concluded that it was indeed my vision's fault. IMHO, it was nothing different than a 3D thingy except:
- the seats are moving (motion master mah!)
- at one scene where snakes were crawling towards us, they added some props below the seats that whips our leg (as though the snakes are wiggling between our legs... hahaha, lame but creative...

Bowling :: I cannot even stress how bad the game was ... No mere words can reflect it...

Terribl-est game I ever played...

Performance :: Free show at center stage, traditional dances and performance by some unknown singers - but damn passionate and talented

Soon, enough, it was time to leave... it was a great relaxing getaway...
